311th restaurant to be rated a complete 5on5 by me. Mokai has now moved to its new location in Pali Hill, Bandra West. The colourful exterior makes it stand out and is hard to miss. The moment you step inside, the ambience instantly catches your attention. The décor is thoughtfully designed, and the Wall of Fame adds a unique touch. The ground floor houses the coffee bar, while the first floor features an exclusive matcha bar where you can watch their signature matcha beverages being freshly prepared. The seating is cosy, comfortable and perfect for spending a relaxed evening. The menu offers a good variety of multi-cuisine dishes along with some unique options that are worth trying. Their beverage menu is equally impressive, and matcha lovers will especially enjoy the dedicated matcha selection. The prices are at par with similar cafés in Bandra. Went here for dinner and absolutely loved the overall vibe of the place. The table service by Staff Abhijeet was prompt and courteous throughout the meal. What We Had - APPETISERS~ Tom Yum Broth Prawns & Coriander Dimsums. 5/5 Prawn Star Burger. 5/5 MAINS~ Mokai’s Khao Suey. 4/5 Nasi Goreng. 5/5 DESSERTS~ 55% Valrhona Flourless Chocolate Cake. 5/5 Brownie Tiramisu Jar. 5/5 BEVERAGES~ Tiramisu Iced Latte. 5/5 Pandan Coconut Cooler. 5/5 Overall, our meal at Mokai was excellent. The beautiful décor, relaxing ambience and delicious food make it a place where you’ll want to spend more time. It is definitely worth visiting, especially if you enjoy great coffee, matcha and unique café experiences.

We recently visited Mokai in Pali Hill, Bandra, and honestly had a really great experience! ✨ The ambience is super aesthetic, peaceful and beautifully done. It’s the kind of café where you can chill with your friends, have a proper conversation, or just spend some relaxed time with good food and drinks. The overall vibe is modern, cosy and inviting. One thing we really liked was their live matcha-making experience. Watching the matcha being prepared adds a nice touch to the café experience, especially if you’re a matcha lover. 🍵 Coming to the food, everything we tried was absolutely delicious and we would genuinely rate the food experience 10/10! We had the Katsu Chicken, Bang Bang Prawns, Mokai Khow Suey Chicken and Gochujang Glazed Chicken Lollipop. Each dish was flavourful and had its own unique taste. For drinks, we tried the Jasmine Infused Water Coffee, Foam and Einspanner Matcha. The drinks were refreshing, well-presented and paired really well with the food. We finished with their Chocolate Crunch Cake, which was a delicious way to end the meal. 🍫 A special mention to the service and management — the staff was attentive, polite and well-managed throughout our visit. We really appreciate the hospitality and the effort they put into making the experience enjoyable. Overall, Mokai is a great spot in Bandra if you’re looking for an aesthetic café with good food, interesting drinks, a relaxed atmosphere and great service. Definitely worth visiting! ❤️

We got table 26 which doesnt have a sofa but a whole bed! Then there is a button in the toilet that starts a disco ball! Food was great especially the noodles and wontons loved it yummy great

Whatever it is that you’re doing, stop it and go try their tiramisu. It’s godly. Also, the matcha menu has a crazy variety.

I am utterly disappointed with the treatment I received at Mokai this afternoon. My friend and I decided to head to Mokai straight after college for a quick lunch. We were prepared for a wait, and although we were surprised by the 45-minute waiting time, we completely understood that it was a Saturday and the restaurant was busy. While waiting inside near the stairs, one of the staff members handling the bookings at around 2:00–2:15 PM, on september 12th ,asked us to move outside, stating that customers were not allowed to wait on the stairs. On its own, this would have been completely reasonable. However, there were two other groups of customers waiting in exactly the same area, and we were the only ones asked to leave. What made the experience particularly uncomfortable was that the other customers were noticeably more dressed up, while my friend and I had come directly from college. Being singled out in this manner made it very difficult not to feel that we were being treated differently based on our appearance and attire. I have visited Mokai countless times and have genuinely enjoyed the food and coffee, which makes this experience all the more disappointing. I understand that restaurants can have rules regarding where customers may wait, but those rules should be applied consistently to everyone. Mokai is not a fine-dining establishment, nor is there any clearly communicated dress code. If there are expectations regarding how customers should be dressed, they should be explicitly stated rather than communicated through selective treatment at the door. I have no issue with being asked to wait outside if that is the restaurant’s policy. My issue is being singled out when others in the exact same situation were allowed to remain inside. Unfortunately, after today’s experience, I do not see myself returning to Mokai. Good food and coffee cannot compensate for making a customer feel unwelcome simply because they do not appear to fit the image of the crowd you want to attract.

It’s just extremely underwhelming food. The matcha is basic. Entirely uninteresting and not worth the hype or the lines.
