Tucked away in the heritage-inspired lanes of Panchpakhadi, NAV GOMANTAK NX isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a love letter to the Konkan coast. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of fresh seafood and fragrant spices welcomes you into a warm, homely ambiance. 1. Prawns Fry Crisp, golden, and beautifully spiced — each prawn is a bite of the sea, cooked to tender perfection with a hint of coastal masala. 2. Pomfret Fry Delicately flaky and fried just right, this dish honors the freshness of the pomfret with a light rawa coating that adds a lovely crunch. 3. Surmai Rawa Fry Juicy kingfish steaks enveloped in a crisp semolina crust — a classic that never disappoints. Each piece is moist inside and gloriously crunchy outside. 4. Solkadhi The perfect palate cooler — this creamy, tangy drink made from coconut milk and kokum is a soothing companion to the fiery fries. 5. Bangada Rawa Fry Humble yet heavenly — the mackerel is fried to a crisp golden brown, with the rawa sealing in all its natural oils and flavors. 6. Mutton Fry Masala Tender chunks of mutton cooked in a robust, aromatic masala — a meat lover’s delight that showcases skill in spice balance. 7. Chicken Masala Succulent chicken pieces simmered in a rich, onion-tomato gravy with traditional coastal spices — comfort in a bowl. 8. Tandul Bhakri (2 pieces) Soft, wholesome rice flour flatbreads — the ideal accompaniment to soak up all those delicious gravies and fries. 9. Surmai Thali A star offering! This thali is a complete coastal feast featuring succulent surmai rawa fry, fragrant rice, tangy solkadhi, and fresh bhakri — a true value-for-money delight. Thank you, NAV GOMANTAK NX , for keeping the flavors of the coast alive and thriving. Here’s to many more delicious journeys!

I recently visited a delightful Maharashtrian restaurant in Thane, and it was an absolute treat for my taste buds! From the moment I walked in, the authentic ambiance and aroma set the perfect tone for a traditional Maharashtrian feast. I started with the Veg thali and it was a hearty, flavorful experience. Every dish on the thali was served with precision—from the chapati to the sabzis and the dal, everything tasted fresh and rich in flavor. The **Kothimbir Vadi** was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, paired perfectly with a tangy chutney. Next came the **Misal Pav**, a spicy, mouth-watering dish with just the right amount of heat, topped with crunchy farsan and served with soft pav—absolutely satisfying! The **Modak**, a perfect blend of sweetness with the soft, steamed exterior and rich coconut filling, took me straight to memories of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. The **Puran Poli** was the star of the meal, perfectly cooked and filled with the perfect blend of sweet and savory flavors—just divine! The service was friendly, and the food was authentic, capturing the true essence of Maharashtrian cuisine. If you’re in Thane and craving some traditional Maharashtrian food, this place is definitely worth a visit!

This place is truly so unique! You can see the reflection of Maharashtrian culture in every corner of this restaurant. The best part is they offer a huge variety of Maharashtrian cuisine! I can hardly think of any Maharashtrian vegetarian dish that isn’t available here. I tried their Sabudana Vada, Matar Karanji, Misal Pav, Modak, special Maharashtrian Thali, and more. Trust me, their Modak is the best in town! You can tell how amazing the Misal Pav is just by looking at it, and their special Maharashtrian Thali is an absolute must-try. Big thanks to Shraavan Upahar Griha for such an amazing experience!

I decided to explore Maharashtrian snacks and Thali at Shraavan Upahar Graha and we had the most amazing Maharashtrian food experience. When we tried out their drinks, we find kokum sarbat and piyush the most amazing. In snacks, we liked misal pav the most as it was perfect and not even very spicy. It tasted such perfect that we can say that it was the best misal pav we ever had. Alu wade also tasted good but misal pav was top notch. Their healthy unlimited Maharashtrian thalis were good. If you visit here, never miss out their amazing Modaks. We look forward to try more snacks and desserts here.

Nav Gomantak NX is the part of illustrious an a Gomantak restaurant chain with 2 outlets in Thane itself. Now the premise of this restaurant is to make Goan food available for all! The menu is predominantly Thali (Sea food/Chicken/Mutton/Veg) and ala carte menu designed to make the experience as Goan as possible. We ordered Prawns fry - which were delicious deep fried prawns served with side of onions and Green chutney sprinkled with chat masala. We ordered sil kadhi which was yummy but a little spicy. For Main course we ordered Pomfret and Surmai (king fish) thali. The thali had a fry fish, fish curry, Kishnoor aka sukat, Sol kadhi, coconut chutney infused with kokam, rice, salad. The portion was enough for person with Fish being well cooked and curry being flavourful, with the Kishnoor and chutney, Sol kadhi being fantastic! We also ordered a dessert Serradura - a Portuguese origin Pudding - from Goa. Its name is Serradura meaning saw dust in Portuguese - a no bake simple pudding made of 4 ingredients. A lovely layered dessert made of biscuits and cream served chilled. A nice touch to the meal end! A Nav Gomantak a nice budget restaurant for those who wish to try authentic Goan food!

I recently tried Masale Bhaat, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. As someone who's used to having this dish at Maharashtrian homes, I was surprised to find that the version served here was quite different. To me, Masale Bhaat is all about the combination of flavorful spices, veggies, and peanuts (shengdana). However, the dish I had seemed more like Tadka-wala Bhat, lacking the veggies and peanuts that make Masale Bhaat unique. It's possible that this is a different style of preparation, but personally, I prefer the traditional version with veggies and peanuts. The flavors just seem more balanced and authentic that way. For me, it's not a bad dish, but it's not my favorite take on Masale Bhaat either.
