We had been there after almost 35 years & it felt truly nostalgic with it's food same at its best quality wise value for money fast service & most importantly the place has to be considered as an heritage & iconic place of Mumbai's best eatery place as it was established in 1848 👌👏💐

Small place but worth trying, food was little bit on oily side but taste was superb, I tried their Royal thaili which comes with 5 sabji and 5 different kind of poori accompanied with lassi, kheer, papad and rice

The place is famous, heard so much about it so went to check it out. It’s literally a hole in the wall and there was a big queue. Felt a bit award, hugely overdressed for the place 😊….full of tourists, did not see mumbaikars there! After waiting for about 20m I got a place, service is super quick. I prdered a Pancham Thali, that came in 5 minutes flat. It had 4 types of poori and 4 different subzi (small portions), boondi raita, pulav, kheer, chaas and papad. Heavy for a working lunch! The poori was good (hard to get that wrong!), subzi and the rest of the shebang was mediocre! It’s a one time gig, done and digested 😊

I took a parcel because of the long queues. It all came neatly packed in a brown paper bag. However, 1 order was missing which we realised when we opened the packet at home. and... there is no way of even contacting the restaurant unless we go back to it personally! I understand that there is a lot of crowd, but they should be careful about what they pack. Disappointed and what was supposed to be a nice Sunday family lunch is spoilt!

sir, I had my lunch in March 1988 when I was in Mumbai for a job interview. I still relish my memories of the excellent lunch at your restaurant. please explore opening a branch in Bangalore in different areas and make kannadigas happy.

Great to relive nostalgia, but at the cost of waiting in a line. Good for a one off experience, but nothing out of the ordinary, just many types of puris (pretty much taste the same)
