I have been going to in since my school days and I went back again last night after the longest time, and let me tell you that the food was as scrumptious as I had it when I was a child, just too delicious. Highly recommend their bombil fry and any kind of Thalis, must try!

This was my second visit to Pangat in Nancy Colony, Borivali. I had a good experience earlier, so I came again on a rainy Friday evening with my family. It took us a good 15 minutes to get a table. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. This time we chose to sit inside. The place looks classy with minimalistic decor, and I liked the overall ambience. We started with Veg Manchow Soup, Chicken Kalimiri Kebab, and Crab Lollipop. The soup was perfect for the weather and tasted really good. The Chicken Kalimiri Kebab tasted good and was cooked well, but I found a thread in the last piece, which was really disappointing. The staff took it to the kitchen when we showed it, but there was no response after that from their end. The Crab Lollipop tasted like it was frozen and not freshly made in their kitchen. Definitely not something I would order again. For the main course, we ordered Veg Thali, Chicken Hyderabadi, Jeera Rice, Chapati, and Rice Bhakri. The thali was nice and filling. The Chicken Hyderabadi had good flavours but I personally felt it could have been a bit spicier. It had more of spinach-like aftertaste. The Rice Bhakri was soft and fresh, which I really liked. The Chapati was good and the Jeera Rice was simple and comforting. The food overall was decent, but the service needs a lot of improvement. We had to call the staff multiple times just to get water or basic things. Many times, they completely ignored us, which was disappointing. When I raised this with the manager, he just listened and didn’t say anything. I honestly feel service matters as much as the food, and that part really fell short during our visit. I have had a better experience here before, so I do hope they take this feedback positively. pathetic seafood place ever to exist in business! been here 10yrs back, and thought of revisiting looking at the new ambience expecting the food quality must have improved too over the past years... BUT IT DEGRADED EVEN MORE! if they're charging 700 for the prawns plate, they at least gotta be mindful enough to do justice to it... it came with 4 fried prawns, one piece of prawns cutlet which didn't have any taste of prawns but clearly had more of aatta in it... and a very tiny katori of prawns semi dry prep - with two prawns in it... so practically I paid 700 + taxes for 6 prawns pieces, a bowl of low quality rice and an rassa on the side which had a pomfret mouth and two rice bhakris... and to add to that... nothing from the thali had any flavours or enough quantity to enjoy the meal... if you're heading to this place STRICTLY AVOID THALIS... We also ordered mutton and it was even more disappointing... the preparation itself is supposed to be spicy but it lacked taste and to top that even the pieces weren't cooked well, and mixed with whole pieces of coconut which were well disguised as pieces of mutton in the gravy. the extra rice ordered was stale and when replaced with a new one - it still wasn't right... Such a low quality experience, made me question are the people here not aware of the Better options in the nearby vicinity? if our experience even slightly good we would have thought of revisiting on a lazy day, but nah...this place did no justice to anything ordered here! ambience great, hygiene - well maintained, owner (manager) - receptive!!! BUT THE KITCHEN STAFF CLEARLY NEEDS AN UPGRADE... if they put efforts to go table to table to understand the guest's experience it could be a game changer for them... this has been an established brand for many years but I've never heard anyone say anything good about the food quality, taste or even the price worthiness in the recent years... I'm hoping they take this as a constructive criticism and work on the same, or else they're just gonna keep disappointing more and more customers!

went there on the suggestion of our driver when we asked him about a good place for Maharashtrian food on our mumbai darshan trip.. But we had to wait for 1.5 hrs for a table of 5.. They wont take pre bookings on phone and you have to just wait there. We found many families of 4 who came after us being viven bigger tables(maybe they were the usuals).. Finally got to sit at seperate tables, and ordered 3 mutton thalis,a fish thali , fish fry nd prawn fry, along with chicken curry and roti for one of us..none of it was anything even near satisfactory.. absolutely tasteless food and had our tummys upset by the time we got back on the trip.. still recovering.. wondering what the hype was all abt.. think twise before going there.. really disappointed..

Very poor service. The food was served cold. The server was not around most of the time. When we asked for fresh onion and even offered to pay for it, the server refused. Overall, it was a bad experience.

I specially mentioned that the food has not to be spicy and the cooking instructions were clearly ignored. I even wrote ‘allergic’ but still the food was really spicy.

I was not happy with the food. All preparation (masala) was same taste. Fish was good but prawns pulao was very bad ,tastles.
