If you are a South Indian especially an tam bram with roots from palakad and are missing food cooked, served and even fed by your Grandmother or Tathi, then I can bet that there is absolutely no better place than Porvai. Adavait was such a lovely host and special thanks for just bringing back my childhood memories. Trust me when I say this, each and every dish was exactly the way I had eaten. The food was a Time Machine back to 80s and 90s. By the way they have Sadhya in ONAM. Don’t even think of anywhere else. Just go here and relive your childhood memories

Porvai is one of those places that just gets everything right. Great food, warm ambience, and genuinely kind service. The Kothu Paratha is a must-try, dosas are spot on, and the chutneys are easily some of the best I’ve had. Ending it with their filter coffee softy just completes the experience. Simple, comforting, and consistently good — exactly the kind of place you keep going back to.

The food here was very good, the staff was also very cordial. Special mention to Mr Advaidh Nair who explained to us all the food available, what taste it is and how to pair each curry with. Filter coffee softy and Mysore Pak Tender Coconut Affogato were cherry to the authentic south indian food we had!

The food was really good , like the house cold coffee , gunpowder idli specially the gunpowder. The chips and chutney platter - raw mango and pundina chutney were yumm. Next was the amazing rasam vada and Thatte idli . Every penny was worth it!!! Thank you 😊 would definitely visit agan.

The food was too good, Chutneys are super testy. The owner and the staff were also very polite and they served their guests with love. if u have been to mahavir nagar you must visit this authentic south indian restaurant

the garlic roast dosa and benne dosa were absolutely tasty....the malabar curry and chutneys sambar were amazingly good as well...loved the food but had a bit of disappointment with the viatnemese cold coffee quantity although the taste was good not authentic obviously but good and the filter coffee softy was too sweet with barely any filter coffee flavour to it... i ll mention the soothing music and mogra fragrance it was really a mood changer...

We had a hair in our gun powder idli, had to replace it again and waited for almost 20-25 mins post that even when the restaurant was fully empty, the filter coffee soft serve was not available very disappointing experience overall, only the benne dosa was decent!

Food was very average and batter used was stale. We ordered Idli, Medu Vada and Ghee Roast Dosa and all very average. Service was good.
