So I got this opportunity to visit the OG Ramashray which I wanted to go to ever since I heard of it but never got the chance to. Service was quick, the attender was responsive as well. You have to wait a few minutes to a few hours if visiting here on weekends. We tried 1. ghee podi idli - 4.5/5 2. idli vada plate - 3/5 (I have had much better version of this at Banana Leaf and Mani's Cafe) 3. Filter Coffee - 5/5 (without even single doubt) 4. Onion uttapam - 3.5/5 (seems this one too hyped for its taste) 5. Masala Dosa - 5/5 (never had this crispy dosa ever before) 6. Tomato Onion Uttapam - 5/5 (this was one was tooooooo good) 7. Pineapple Sheera - 5/5 (ooh boi this one is must try here) Honourable Mention : I tried their Mysore Pak as well which they gave me for sample - and my God trust me on this that was the bestest sweet you would have tried EVERRRR but the thing is you eat it there itself when it's bit of warm, take away would not taste that great. so here is everything I had at The Iconic RAMASHRAY.

Ramashraya is an institution for a reason! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the comforting aroma of fresh sambhar and filter coffee.Service is lightning-fast—your food often arrives within minutes of ordering—and the prices are unbelievably reasonable for the quality. Be prepared for a short wait during peak hours, but trust me, it’s worth every minute.

Visited Ramashray, Matunga, a legendary spot for South Indian food. • Must-try: Curry Idli – absolutely the highlight, soft idlis soaked in rich flavorful curry. • Kadi Wada – tangy and comforting, a unique twist worth trying. • Rava Masala Dosa – crispy, well roasted, and generously stuffed. • Filter Coffee (sugar-free) – strong, aromatic, and refreshing. • Tea – simple yet satisfying. If you're craving authentic South Indian flavors, Ramashraya is a must-visit! Their Thatte Idli (8/10) is soft, fluffy, and pairs perfectly with chutneys. Dosa (8/10) is crisp and generously filled. The Filter Coffee is the real hero here – strong, aromatic, and a solid 10/10. Don’t leave without trying the Pineapple Sheera – it's warm, sweet, and absolutely divine (10/10). A classic spot that delivers on taste every time!

Don't want to be too harsh but I expected a hospitable environment. I don't know how zomat calculates the ratings as most of the reviews I saw described a similar inhospitable environment, still it had no impact on overall rating. I would like to bring to everyone's notice that staff in all the outlets is rude there may be a specific reason behind it. It's unbelievable for a legendary restaurant to mistreat their customers. Having said that food is still good not comparable to what I used to have a couple of years back.

WORST SERVICE BY RAMASHRAYA PAREL BRANCH. THEY MISS SENDING FOOD ITEMS WHEN CALLED THEY CUT THE CALL THRICE. THE MANAGER IS RUDE AND DOESNT KNOW HOW TO SPEAK AND ADDRESS TO THE ISSUES OF THE CUSTOMERS. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER FACED BY SUCH A REPUTED RESTAURANT. WHOEVER IS THE MANAGER WHO ATTENDED THE CALL ON 19 APRIL 2026 AT 1:15 WAS ABSOLUTELY RUDE AND DIDNT KNOW HOW TO SPEAK THE CUSTOMER. SOMEONE PROMPTED HIM FROM BEHIND - "CALL CUT KAR RE !" WORST SERVICE AND WORST EXPERIENCE. A BIG NO TO THIS PLACE FOR ALL THE DOSA LOVERS TO STOP ATTENDING THIS PLACE WHERE CUSTOMERS ARE TREATED IN A RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL MANNER.

The food is not good. It is over rated. The Ghee does not smell like Ghee. Overall an Ok place to have food but definitely not worth the hype.
