As a food lover, I have visited many places that serve Malvani food, but this is my favorite spot for the most authentic Malvani fish dishes. If you know the original taste of Malvani food and are a fan of fish, this place will never disappoint you. This place is highly recommended. Please note that this restaurant is closed on Mondays. On other days, it is open from 11 AM to 3:30 PM and from 7 PM to 11:30 PM. If you rely on Google Maps to find it, you might get confused, so just ask any local shop owner for directions. It's hardly more than a 5-minute walk from Goregaon East station. Here’s what we tried: Satkar Special Fish Thali: This thali offers options for chapati, bhakri, or vade. We chose vade. The price was 850 INR (as of our visit). Dry Tisrya (with bhakri or vade): We opted for bhakri. The price was 460 INR. Mutton Liver Tawa Fry: The price was 460 INR. Each dish was exquisite and true to the authentic Malvani taste.

If you are craving for some really authentic and delicious malvani food then Satkar Rice Plate House in goregaon is a must visit . Its a 68 year old legacy brand and still serving the same authentic taste to its customers . As a goregaonkar Satkar Rice Plate House has been our go to spot when we are craving for some malvani cuisine . We tried their satkar spcl thali , chicken thali, mutton chops , prawns tawa fry and everything was just up to the mark. Its safe to say that they serve one of the best malvani food in all of mumbai. Dont trust me ? Visit Satkar Goregaon soon and find out for yourself

Gold Standard for Malvani Thali..be it Kombdi Vada, Fish Thali, Prawns Thali, Egg Thali...Best for Unique Gravies. No place in Mumbai or even in Tarkarli, Malvan can match as good as Satkar, Goregaon East. Only disappointment is we get only Fried Fish and no Tava Fry or Tandoor items. Veg Thali is Average as not much varieties......but whatever available quality is good. However Sol Kadi is not the best...as I have tasted better ones elsewhere. I keep repeating the place only for the NV Thalis which is 5 /5

About the Place - This place is located in a quiet bylane near the station and is situated on the first floor. It’s a small, non-AC setup, and waiting time varies based on peak hours. However, the service is prompt, and the restaurant mainly specializes in thalis. About the Food - Tried the Bombil fry — three pieces served crispy and crunchy. The prawns masala thali was on the spicier side but really tasty, especially with wade. The tisarya masala was packed with spices and absolutely delicious. Ended the meal with solkhadi.

This is an absolute gem ! Have been visiting this place for many years and their quality continues to amaze me. The fish curry is the game changer here and maybe only because of that they have their fish thalis priced a little on the expensive side. The fish has always been fresh. I would strongly recommend this place to sea food lovers.

600 for a Surmai Thali is too expensive…They write APS as price but charge so much

I remember visting this restaurant years back when I used to be around Goregaon for authentic seafood. In my memory, I used to rate this place on the lines of Dadar’s Gomantak or Dombivli’s Satkar Lunch Home which give a good old world charm, homely vibes along with authentic konkan taste. So this time when I was around Goregaon, I thought of visiting this place for lunch. As expected, the ambience, the seating was very humble just as it used to be ages ago. But the menu was shocking. Surmai Thali was for ₹650 & Pomphret Thali was for ₹800, which I felt was almost 1.5x of its peers with similar offerings. I was totally ok paying that amount but my expectations went up. I was expecting a massive Surmai Fry piece. But to my surprise, the Surmai Thali came with one tiny Surmai fry and another tiny piece in the curry, both tinier than what most popular yet cheaper peers have to offer. What came as a relief to my disappointed soul was that they were generous with their servings of sol kadi, curry, rice & chatni, which they re-served as I emptied my bowl. I would surely give this place a miss when I’m around Goregaon the next time & I would urge the management to relook at their pricing or at least uplift the consumer experience to suit the pricing.

Shocked to see language-based pricing at this restaurant. The same dish costs more if ordered in English than in Marathi. Promoting a local language is one thing—penalising customers for speaking another language is unacceptable. Maharashtra welcomes people from all backgrounds, and businesses should reflect that inclusivity, not practice discrimination. Pricing should be honest, transparent, and equal for all customers. The stares and behaviour from the staff made us extremely uncomfortable, turning an already unfair situation into a deeply unpleasant experience. Charging more because a customer speaks English is discrimination, not respect for Marathi. Until this changes, I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I ordered take away mutton thali your packaging was in silver pouch not proper container , But you gave me mutton sukha and komdi Vada.and plain rice no gravy how can we eat rice without gravy and amount taken Rs 595. I am very surprised how can we eat rice without gravy there is no common sense of management and there is no gst bill.Your Hotel has a good reputation and you should maintain it.This is humble request to the owners to maintain relations with customers.

Overhyped For all the hype & hidden gem review, this place is an utter disappointment. Of all the Kokani/ malwani restaurants in Mumbai, this place definitely serves non- authentic and substandard food. we ordered fried bombils - they were deep friend as is the practise here. Two other chicken dishes we ordered were average. The signature dish of any malvani restaurant - Sol Curry was absolute shite. Do not fall for this one.
