Location - Located on the rooftop of the the taj Hotel in Mumbai with fantastic views of the arabian Sea and the gateway of India. Welcome - We were greeted at the reception by Dinesh, the restaurant manager, and were assisted with a choice of tables, we selected the one with the view of the Gateway of India. Food - The food was delicious 😋 & well presented We Tried 1. Beiruty hummus 4/5 2. Rocket Leaves Salad 5/5 3. Spinach Cheese Lebanese Pizza 5/5 4. Zatar Pita 5/5 And the star of the show was the dessert Bstilla Au Lait, so delicious 😋 Service(Special Mention) - Right from taking our reservations to assisting us with the menu, Dinesh was a superstar. Many thanks to him. Overall - We had a wonderful timing dining at the Souk, cant wait to return #samstravelogy

We were here after dinner for dessert. The ambiance is pretty cool. We ordered chocolate b’stilla which a phyllo dome with lot of chocolate in it . The outer layer was crispy and oozing choco and also chocolate mousse in it was yummy. Totally worth it. Along with it we ordered a Turkish coffee. The coffee was bitter as it was suppose to be , along with dessert it tasted heavenly. We had a lovely time .

The food is excellent, and the staff beyond exceptional, under the leadership of Mr. Anselm the staff offer an experience unlike any other that a Mumbai fine dining restaurant may offer.

Souk, located on the top floor of The Taj Mahal tower/Palace in Mumbai, offers an impressive dining experience with some notable highlights and a few areas for improvement. The customer service at Souk is exceptional. The staff is attentive and ensures you feel well taken care of throughout your visit. The ambience is pleasant, featuring a sophisticated decor that complements the restaurant’s location. One of the unique aspects of Souk is its view; from the top floor, you can enjoy a stunning perspective of the Gateway of India, although you need to stand up to fully appreciate the sight. During our visit, we tried several dishes: • Hummus: 4/5 • Lebanese Pizza: 5/5 (a must-try) • Schumander Salate: 2/5 • Moussaka: 3/5 • Souk Pilaf: 3/5 The menu at Souk is somewhat limited, but the items available are generally good. We sampled 5-6 dishes during our visit. While a few stood out for their flavor, others didn’t quite meet expectations. The presentation of the dishes was adequate, though not particularly impressive. We didn’t manage to get the table we initially wanted, but this didn’t significantly affect our overall experience thanks to the excellent service provided. Despite the limited selection, the quality of the service and the unique views make Souk a worthwhile visit. In summary, Souk at The Taj Mahal Palace offers a good dining experience with remarkable service and a pleasant ambience. While there is room for improvement in some of the dishes and their presentation, the exceptional service and beautiful view of the Gateway of India make it a memorable spot to dine in Mumbai.

My recent visit to Souk left me distinctly underwhelmed. While the restaurant enjoys a reputation for elegance, the reality fell short of expectations. The ambience, rather than being refined and serene, was marred by casual conversations in Hindi between staff members that diminished the sense of exclusivity one anticipates in such an establishment. Although the restaurant is situated on a higher floor, the much-advertised view proved ordinary at night, offering little of the charm one imagines when dining by the Arabian Sea. The music, disappointingly loud and poorly curated, added little sophistication. Coupled with prices that far exceed the quality of the overall experience, Souk struggles to justify its prestige.

The service was quite disappointing. We wanted to begin with mocktails and tea, but they were not willing to take our order and insisted that we start with starters since they are a specialty restaurant. Although they have tea options on their menu, they refused to serve them, claiming that as a specialty restaurant, it wasn't part of their offerings. If they don't serve it, why is there an entire section for tea on the menu? and what's wrong with some drinks and tea and then order food? they really had the audacity to say that we won't just serve tea or drinks. even if i just came for tea or mocktails , who says no to an order?

Snooty & unwelcoming staff. Especially the manager. Zero for hospitality. And food is very average. Wouldn’t recommend or go again.
