Sozo Izakaya in Borivali West is a standout for high-quality, pure vegetarian Japanese and Asian cuisine. Located near Shimpoli, it offers a cozy, "aesthetic" vibe that makes it popular for casual dates and family dinners. The menu highlights include the Laksa Ramen, noted for its rich and aromatic broth, and the Dynamite Sushi Roll. Their Jain-friendly options are extensive and surprisingly authentic. While the food and hospitable service consistently earn praise, the restaurant is often crowded on weekends, which can lead to longer wait times. Overall, it is a reliable, value-for-money spot for vegetarian sushi lovers in the suburbs

Hands down they serve some of the best Japanese food. However, the service is terrible. Getting a table here is no less than an achievement. The root cause is they are accepting unlimited bookings from zomato, Swiggy & eazy diner. However none of it stands true as the moment you come to the restaurant you need to give your name in the waiting list which is followed by them. Besides while the food is promptly made, the server's needs to be trained. Just serving the food plate doesn't end their job, plates cutlery etc needs to be provided which currently all the customers need to remind them of. Honestly I don't blame them, they are sweet guys however with the rush flowing in and just 3-4 servers things can get tough. But again, the food is too good to miss. We tried all the jain Dimsum's and they are to die for. too tasty. The sandoz, and other small plates are too good as well. Must visit but yes the people management needs to be improved or else I definitely see that people will stop visiting

We waited for more than an hour to get our table which was actually pre booked. The Food and Service was good, but there was no management. No senior authority to allot the tables, people were just randomly coming inside and grabbing the tables they were getting. The waitstaff was very sweet and apologetic for the mess. But this mess should be considered by higher management authorities, considering it was a Sunday, the management needs lot of improvement. Very disappointed but the tasty food made up for it. please sort this issue.

The food was average & overpriced. The noodles were too salty. The service was average. The bill had the wrong amount on it. overall experience- not worth going back to.

Visited SOZO Borivali recently. While the food was average, the hygiene standards were concerning. The same staff member who was cleaning tables served us fresh plates without washing his hands. When we pointed it out, his response was casual and dismissive. Basic hygiene is non-negotiable in any restaurant. I hope the management takes this seriously and ensures proper staff training.

The dimsum was not properly cooked and there was a hair on our soy sauce!! Pathetic food. The cutlery which was provided was sticky & not properly washed…. Sushi was mid. The staff was nice kudos to them!!!

Disastrous service, highly unprofessional and untrained staff. And whats the point of a reservation if you still have to wait for over 30 mins and still get tables in 2 halves.
