This fries place is like a golden haven for potato lovers. The fries are crispy on the outside and all cheesy goodness on the inside. It's like they've cracked the code for the perfect fry texture. And hold on, they're not just stopping at plain fries. Nope, they've got this whole lineup of sauces and toppings that take the fry game to a whole new level. I'm talking about a symphony of flavors dancing on your taste buds. You've got your classic ketchup for the traditional folks, but then they throw in these wildcards like garlic aioli, spicy mayo, and even a tangy barbecue sauce. It's a saucy party, my friend. And the toppings! Oh boy, they've got everything from melted cheddar to crispy bacon bits. It's like a DIY adventure for your fries. You can load 'em up with whatever your heart desires.

Tried Veg Cheese Momos, Chrispy veg burger, Classic Tornado and "Mayo Cheese fries". The reason to put "Mayo Cheese Fries" in double quote because that's a must try item, with more than expected quantity n filled with Cheese n Mayo.The quality of fries are better than other competitors selling in that area. The quantity offered for the price was also good. They also replaced my Masala Lemonade on request and made it more spicy. Staff if very much friendly. Hoping for discount in next visit 😝

The article 'the' in the title of this lovely cafe seems to be redundant, as there are over 10 eateries of the same (or similar) name in the city of dreams alone, and perhaps in hundreds worldwide. Apart from what seemed like little effort in naming the place, (I am glad that it doesn't get carried to the kitchen) this particular outlet knows how to attract customers. In the same building where this establishment is housed, there are a couple other eating joints, but one can clearly see the stark difference between them. The management of The Bombay Fries, New Panvel has invested thought, effort, time and money in making the place presentable and marketable. It's not just 'fries' or food that you are offering, it's more than that. There are a few chairs kept outside the outlet, which would perhaps get used during peak hours, and it's crowd is 99% students of an engineering college a stone's throw away. So location wise they have hit a jackpot, and one can see their efforts in providing better services too. The main seating area is upstairs, which can host not more than 13-14 guests. You do have to mind your head while you get up, but the seating is comfortable enough, thanks to a working air-conditioner. The walls are bright yellow with black graffiti/mural whatever you call it, about...you guessed it, Bombay and fries. It helps set a funky and casual vibe to the place (and also adds a good enough background for sharing the food pics on Instagram). The staff are friendly and the waiting time for food is manageable. Of course, the menu has much more than just fries in it! I was surprised to see non-vegetarian fries and that's what tempted me to check them out in the first place. I have been here twice, and left satisfied both the times. CHICKEN PIZZA FRIES - Chicken nuggets (I guess 3 in number?) along with potato fries (so the fries are not made of chicken are they?) topped with a healthy dressing of Pizza sauce, Mayonnaise and some grated cheese. It tasted like pizza alright, thanks to the pizza sauce based topping. The portion size was also decent, but I did find it a bit expensive considering the cafe is not even in Mumbai anymore. But I guess the college kids are ready to pay good money for good services, then so be it. It was good and not great. What would make it great you ask? For starters, they could toss the fries in a vessel and add the sauces and toss it around. This'll help the fries get covered in sauce. Though I did not feel that what they served lacked sauce, this method ensures the taste is more uniform. But it does come with a downside that your fries will get soggy faster, but I am sure that everyone finishes their fries in under 5 minutes, so sogginess won't be a problem. COLD COFFEE - The drink had too much froth for a cold coffee. Taste-wise, again decent but I have had better cold coffees at 60% of its price. JUMBO CRUNCHY CHICKEN BURGER - Well I was excited after placing an order for this, expecting a jumbo burger, at least bigger than an average burger. But the adjective jumbo was not for the burger, but for the chicken, more precisely, the crunchiness of the chicken. The burger was normal sized (*sigh) but one could feel the crunch of the chicken patty in every bite. Also, none of the bites were dry, the ample amount of Mayo and tandoory mayo ensure that. It also had some standard burger veggies, but one could hardly taste them as the taste buds are more focused on enjoying the saucy and crunchy meat. There's also a side of peri-peri fries to munch on. A well-balanced and tasty snack for sure. PAAN MOJITO - Not satisfactory. The mojito syrup was too little to be able to taste any flavour of paan in the drink, and the sprite added wasn't cold enough to make a mojito, or rather an enjoyable mojito out of it. The efforts in making the drink were visible, the tanginess of lemon juice and mint leaves for presentation, but still a drink known for its refreshing nature, such as Mojito needs more than that. What I would conclude is this: the food of the cafe is quite nice, but the drinks can be a few notches better. Though The Bombay Fries is not at all a cafe for which you should travel all the way from Mumbai (or should I say Bombay?) to Panvel to try it out, it's most certainly a place worth trying, especially their varieties of fries, and the best choice in the locality at that. I'd recommend you visit them if you are looking to get some fast-food grub in New Panvel. They are a few tens of bucks expensive, but it's proximity to the college lets them charge that much, which is also a good marketing decision (I am sure they are paying higher rent too, so it's fair enough).
