This is the shitty experience I had. I booked a table through Zomato, and once I reached the restaurant, they refused to give us the table and said there was a 45-minute waiting time. We told them that we had a confirmed booking through Zomato, but the guy had the audacity to say that they cannot hold tables for Zomato bookings. I completely understand that there can be a huge crowd, but then they should not have accepted the booking in the first place. If a Zomato booking does not guarantee or hold a table, then how is it beneficial to the customer? At the very least, they could have informed us beforehand that there was a huge crowd and that there might be a delay in getting a table, instead of letting us arrive at the booked time only to make us wait another 45 minutes. It honestly feels like they are more focused on overbooking and maximizing business than providing proper customer service. Completely pathetic experience.
