Ummrao Saaj is positioned as a modern Awadhi fine-dining experience. Lucknow-style royal cuisine but plated in a contemporary, curated format. Interiors are Rich, nawabi aesthetic with chandeliers, warm lighting, and a “royal mehfil” feel. Seating are Mix of intimate tables + private dining. Perfect for Date nights, special occasions, family get together. “Sunday Saaj” is usually follows a multi-course tasting format inspired by Awadhi cuisine. Typical flow is • Amuse bouche / small starter • Kebabs or chaats • Signature curry + bread • Rice dish (pulao/biryani) • Dessert The cuisine focuses on Slow-cooked gravies, Mild spices, aromatic flavors and Rich textures (creamy but refined, not heavy). Presentation is Elegant, plated like a tasting menu. Attentive staff giving personalized recommendations and even Chef interaction explaining about the dishes and drinks. Royal + romantic - Good for dates, anniversaries, premium outings. Ummrao Saaj’s Sunday course meal is a Delightful experience + storytelling through food.

I recently visited Ummrao Saaj at Courtyard by Marriott, and it felt like stepping into a space where everything slows down. The experience begins with Khasta Kachori and Bhel, both carrying familiar flavours with a refined touch. The Murgh Dhaniya Shorba was comforting and light, while the Khatti Machli and Lakhori Murgh Tikka stood out for their balance and depth without being overpowering. The mains were the highlight. The Dal e Saaj was rich and slow cooked, the Murgh Kaliya was flavourful and well spiced, and the Mutton Haleem had a beautiful texture. Paired with Taftaan and tandoori breads, the meal felt complete. The Saaj Biryani was fragrant and light, and desserts like Baked Shahi Tukda and Kulfi Falooda ended the meal perfectly.

Chef Siddique has magical hands. He has a Midas touch that turns every meal into delicacy. Nitesh is one of a kind of a concierge who knows what you want just by looking at you. He reads people really well.

The drinks menu is totally out of sync with the rest of the world. No cocktails. When we got margaritas and LIT on special request, it was made by some waiter rather than bartender. Starters were limited. Overall this place needs to be revamped elsewhere not worthwhile to visit.

Food is good but terrible service. It took 20 mins for someone to acknowledge my presence at the table. Post that another 30 mins for the food to arrive.Would only recommend if they better their service !

We hosted an intimate post-wedding dinner (18 guests) at Ummrao Saaj, expecting a premium experience given its association with Courtyard by Marriott. Despite prior discussions and assurances from the manager, the experience was extremely disappointing. Service was slow and understaffed—just one waiter for 18 people, leading to delays even for basic requests like water. The private dining experience was also compromised by loud music despite repeated requests to lower it. The food was the biggest letdown. Starters were stale or cold, kebabs lacked flavor, soup was bland, and the main course (especially biryani) was poorly prepared. Desserts were equally underwhelming. Only the veg dishes were somewhat decent. For a bill exceeding ₹60,000, this was far from a fine-dining experience and ended up spoiling a very special occasion. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had, and we would not recommend this shitty place!

Such a waste of time. Its showing open on Zomato and Google but the manager says its closed. Pathetic response from manager as he was trying to out smart us.
