We visited this place for lunch yesterday. The place was crowded as hell and there is a very good reason for that. We ordered the mutton palavo as the chicken palavo was over. We also ordered the mutton liver which was awesome. Forget the ambiance, the crowd, the service. The food is what we came for and the food is what we enjoyed.

Heard a lot about this place and had to visit. Slightly tough to locate as there are so many clones of the original. Small functional restaurant with no frills. Be prepared to share your table with others as the place gets packed even on weekdays. We tried the highly recommended mutton biriyani. It is served on a large flat donnai- or traditional “plate” made by sewing together dried leaves. The leaf plate is piled generously with piping hot Biriyani, a small helping of raitha and a lime wedge. You can get a bowl of Saalna gravy on the side. The leaf itself imparts an earthy aroma to the rice. A word of warning if you are expecting a spicy Hyderabadi style Biriyani - this is not the place for you. The Biriyani here is more like a plain white pulao/ ghee rice. Very delicately spiced with whole spices and slight heat from green chillies and pepper. The meat is tender, juicy and a generous portion of ‘pieces’ is served with the rice. A squeeze of lime enhances the flavours to a whole new level. The best part about this Biriyani is that it’s not at all oily nor overly spiced. So you can eat a large quantity and still feel light. On the flip side since it is so mild it might not suit all palates & can get monotonous after a few mouthfuls. The raitha served alongside was below average and almost dry. The saalna however was rich, meaty & spicy and went well with the delicate Biriyani. Verdict : Do visit if you like a mild/subtle Biriyani. Portion size is humongous. “Half” Biriyani itself is quite sufficient for one person. Service here deserves a special mention. It’s homely and friendly, like eating at a relatives house. Our waiter stood by to have a chat and explain why their Biriyani was superior to the many clones. He kept refilling our saalna & raitha & insisted we squeeze more lime over our rice. 😃

Crazy early morning ride for breakfast at Hotel Hanumanthu in new meteor 350😍😍 . Was it worth- ya man . Oh wait how many original Hanumanthu 1930 are there 😅😅 . Most items - sold out Ordered Mutton pulav with some soup and mutton korma😋😋😋 . Coming to the pulav, it is not high on spice but that naati sogad from both spices and mutton add that depth of flavor, the pepperiness and squeeze of lemon is just 👌 . The gravy with the pulav was bit burnt instead of the smoky flavor, negative to this 🙄 . The soup was very aromatic with some ginger may be dried and cinnamonny, its a yes☺️☺️ . How good was that mutton korma, richness from the mutton broth and i gt tomato flavor not sure if thy hav put tomato puree, nice balance of flavors though 👍👍 . Finally got to taste the famously talked about pulav in mysore... the one & only Original Hotel Hanumanthu. Usually I go on hunt with a carnivore gang but on this Sunday due to bus breakdown in mysore enroute to coorg, A spontaneous plan for an early morning breakfast. Breakdown was a blessing in disguise though. Ordered half mutton pulav, 1 leg soup, 1 mutton chops & brain fry. Pulav was average & a bit bland to my liking. Would have preferred it spicy. Mutton Chaaps & Leg Soup was amazingly tasty, loaded with lots of pepper the taste was tantalizingly delicious. Not so hard on your pocket, a good VFM hotel. Ambience is neat & clean after renovation and service is quick. A big shout out to the guy who served me 😃😃 .

A true classic no doubt! Hanumanthu offers a perfect VFM mutton that, although looks stomachful, doesn't feel heavy at all. The dishes we tried were the mutton pulav (one plate is sufficient for two), and the mutton korma - the common denominator being the perfectly cooked mutton. The pulav has a rich yet simple, comforting flavour to it and the korma was perfectly spiced. The only letdown (just for the sake of picking one) is the availability of the other dishes. For which one must definitely go early!

This place in Mysuru is extremely famous for their yummy biryani and mutton delicacies! So glad we visit this humble place. Food - Off course we ordered for their famous mutton pulao (sooo good), the mutton sukka was also very well made. While writing this review, Iam actually salivating! Ambience- Basic Value for money - It’s a steal! Worth every penny. Customer service- Very prompt

Tasty and pocket friendly We got a take out from this place. Although not many options the food was pretty decent. Try their chops. It has a very unique taste. Be ware of the multiple fake duplicates of same. Better ask locals to know the authentic one.

I am writing the review after visiting the restaurant twice. The resto is famous for mutton pulav and chops. From my personal experience, I would say it's an overrated restaurant in the city. Tried better pulav and chops in many other restaurants. I ain't giving a bad review. Food here is decent. Less spices added and they serve in leaf but it's not great. Not a must try, might be it was years ago.
