I had an impromptu lunch plan with my son and we had a delight of a meal. Thank you Gopal for setting up our disturbance-free meal. Had a wonderful time sharing stories with my son. I totally vouch for the food

Upon the recommendation of a dear friend, who'd always had a shawarma from here every single time she visited the city, I found myself here, dragging my family along and with really high expectations from it. It was very evident, from the lots of orders being packed, that it's quite a popular place and perhaps even local's favourite. The entire establishment seems to be a residential bungalow turned restaurant, with some indoor seating which seemed better, with more comfortable furniture and then a few tables arranged in the front yard, where we dined. The menu is expansive, with a great variety of middle eastern delicacies to choose from. Even in Shawarma itself, they have over 15 kinds, each served with the choice of roomali roti or kuboos/pita bread. I'll be honest, I was spoiled by choice and was really excited in anticipation of my order. Started with GARLIC CHICKEN SHAWARMA & BANJARA CHICKEN SHAWARMA, both of which came piping hot, nicely wrapped in brown paper, served with some pickled veggies and a mayonnaise(?) based dip. It was already cut in half, meant not only for its easy sharing and consumption, but also proudly showcasing the drool-worthy and instagrammable cross section. Both the shawarmas looked delicious, stuffed with tender and juicy meat, true to their described flavours of garlic and tangy sweet-n-sour respectively. They were quite good, but they lacked something. Maybe it wasn't as flavourful as other shawarmas I've had, or maybe I expected a bit more as they were so pleasing to the eye, but something deterred them from being the best shawarmas I'd get my hands on. For mains we had MUTTON KHEEMA WITH HUMMUS, which came with a side of 2 pitas. It looked really pretty and presentable, with a big chunk of meaty kheema at the centre, surrounded all around by hummus, and garnished generously with pepper, pista and I'm assuming olive oil? This time the meat had a distinct and likeable flavour, along with a good textured mouthfeel. Thanks to its portion size, we also ordered tandoori wheat roti later on, and it reached our table hot and fluffy. To conclude, my high expectations (set by my friend who recommended this place) proved to be a deterrent from truly enjoying this place. My sister, a resident of this city, claimed that she can offer a much better shawarma at half this price, and I doubt that was a hyperbole. That being said, Al-Arabian express is certainly a great restaurant which serves a lot more stuff other than shawarma, and serves it right. I'd love to visit them again and try some yummy sounding stuff from their kitchens. Happy Burping!!!

The ambience is okay and the taste was amazing, but the reason behind the bad review was that the food we ordered was not cooked. We had ordered a kashmiri chicken tandoori and some of the chicken pieces in it were not cooked as seen in the photos added herein. The server did not have anything to say about it and did not take it well, however the manager was more helpful, took 10% off our bill, had a convincing reason and assured it won't happen again. Hopefully they'll look into this matter as this is a grave mistake which may cause people to potentially fall ill.

Extremely disappointed with my experience at Al Arabian (College Road). I ordered a chicken shawarma today, and when I opened the package, I found a cockroach inside the food box. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the restaurant's hygiene and food safety standards. Finding an insect in food is not just disgusting—it is a health hazard. I have attached a photo as proof. I hope the management takes this matter seriously, improves cleanliness in the kitchen, and ensures this never happens to any customer again. I would not recommend ordering from here until proper hygiene standards are maintained.
