Very disappointing experience. Despite the café being almost completely vacant, we were told that we could not sit for “this long” on the premises. There were no waiting customers, yet we were still asked to leave, which felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. Additionally, when we requested a small extra serving of dal with a thali, the request was outright refused, as if providing a little extra would cause a loss to the business. This rigid approach to basic hospitality is quite surprising. When questioned, the staff simply responded, “These are the rules.” Rules that discourage customers from sitting comfortably and deny reasonable requests are not customer-friendly. If such policies continue, it will be difficult for this café to retain or attract customers in the long run. Hospitality is about warmth and flexibility—unfortunately, this place offers neither.
