A Reliable South Indian Favourite I have already visited Atmanam in Sector 65 three times in the last three months, and that itself says something about how much I like the place. The decor is simple, the restaurant is spacious and clean, and the staff have always been courteous. Service is usually quick as well. On my last visit there was some electrical issue, so the lighting kept fluctuating for a while, but otherwise the experience has been consistently good. We have tried their Idli, Upma and several dosas, including the Benne Dosa. The food has always felt freshly and nicely prepared. If you specifically ask for ghee or butter, they do it well. I particularly like their coconut chutney. The sambhar is good, though I feel it can still be improved a little. The one thing I would strongly recommend is the jaggery payasam. It is somewhat like a kheer, made with ghee, milk and jaggery, and when served piping hot, it is an absolute delight. I have also heard good feedback about Atmanam from friends after recommending it to them. For good South Indian food in Gurgaon, this is definitely a place worth trying.

We visit South Indian restaurants often and this was our first visit to Atmanam. The queue was as per the booking time, there was no unnecessary delay and waiting for seating, unlike other South Indian places. However, there was some issue in service due to the Sunday rush. We had Benne masala dosa, vegetable kurma with parota and filter coffee. The food was delicious. The parota was one of the most flaky ones I have had so far. Surely visiting again.

The food is sad. The rasam was made out of some ready made powder mixed with hot water. There were 4-5 flies going around in circles around our table. The dosas had an aftertaste of the poor quality rice used to make them. We made a dumb decision & ordered a benne dosa. It took them ages to prepare it. It came after 30 mins & was as thick as my sleeping mattress. Even the service was forgettable. The whole experience was forgettable. I have given an extra star only for the chutneys.
