Great south indian food. The place is budget friendly and good for family dinner. We ordered a set dosa, vada and onion uttapam, everything was scrumptious. The place is very crowded on weekends, so you might have to wait for 30-45 min.

Just awesome food. Don’t go here for fancy diner. Awesome food must try Malleshwaram dosa. Not so fancy and might have to wait for 30 min over weekend.

The seating area is quite congested, which makes the overall dining experience uncomfortable, especially during peak hours. Coming to the food, the Rawa Onion Dosa was extremely disappointing—loaded with raw onions and frankly not enjoyable at all. It was probably the weakest dish we tried. The Malleshwaram Dosa stood out as one of the better options in terms of taste, but it’s definitely not suitable for those who are watching their calorie intake. The Rawa Coconut Masala Dosa was decent—nothing exceptional, but acceptable. The Plain Butter Dosa turned out to be the best among everything we ordered—simple, well-made, and satisfying. On the beverages side, the filter coffee was good and worth trying. Final Verdict: While a couple of items were enjoyable, the inconsistent food quality and cramped seating make it hard to recommend this place overall.

I visited this place as I am having a urge of south indian food this place is located near my office so I went there at the time of lunch . There is a waiting time of around 15-25 minutes . I waited outside the restaurant . When I went inside after 5 minutes I was served by a glass of water and the menu card I ordered rasam with a papad as a starters .They took my order and took away the menu card with them . They served me rasam After seeing its texture My whole mind got disappointed it was a tomato soup with no texture and taste even the tomato soup tastes much better. I dont know what could be the reason behind it . Then after some time I asked for the menu card they took 5 minutes to hand over me the menu card . I ordered there special dosa known as some street dosa(dont know the exact name) when dosa served at my table I saw the sambhar it was the most disastrous sambhar I ever witnessed and when I tasted it It was horrible . No quality like south indian sambhar . Even the street serves you better dosa and sambhar . This place is not for authentic south indian food lovers. This was about food quality . Even the hospitality is very poor . No one will be interested to serve you . Very poor place . I am again repeating if you are authentic south indian food lover dont visit this place . A big Noo.

*ABSOLUTELY UNHYGIENIC RESTAURENT AND MEDIEVAL PROCESS OF TABLE WAITING* Focussed Improvements required for multiple issues (Though I don't think the management cares because of the huge footfall at this restaurant) Areas of Improvement : 1. HYGEINE: Hygiene is one of the major issues in this restaurant. The washroom/handwashing area and sadly even the area leading to the kitchen is in a terrible state. The washroom is equivalent to a public restroom. 2. Waiting process : A guard still writes down your name on paper, and this process does not even have the option to give your phone number and get a call. All other restaurants have upgraded to an automated system, but Carnatic Cafe and its management is still living in the year 2000. 3. Waiting area : Since no one will give you a call when your table is ready, you have to wait in the scorching heat (with no shade, no drinking water) to wait for your table. The food is quite decent and that's the reason for the crowds to be pulled in. But I would rather eat at a food stall which probably 1/3rd of the price for the same services. (Lack of Hygiene, and waiting at the door of the restaurant like it's our mistake that we decided to eat here) Definitely avoiding going to Carnatic Cafe from here on.

On 12 February 2026 I visited this place and there was a cockroach found in sambar served to us. No manager was present at the moment and we were asked it's not a big deal(Ho jaata hai kabhi). The worst experience I ever had. Not recommending it to anyone. Eat food at your own risk as no one is here to take responsibility for the same even no management was present.

I did not like the service at all. Food service is quick but hygiene is bad. Manager did not respond to our request and had to talk to him in sign language. Did not even bother to come to our seat and listen. Waiters were fine.
