Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Service, Low Food Quality and Misleading Buffet Expectations I visited Castle Barbeque, Janakpuri, for a lunch buffet on 13th October with my son, and the experience was absolutely disappointing. The restaurant was almost completely vacant, which itself raised questions about its popularity compared with the impression created by its online reviews. 1. Extremely Poor and Unprofessional Service The staff was exceptionally lazy and inattentive. We were made to feel as though serving us was a burden rather than their responsibility. The welcome drink arrived only after we asked for it, and mint chutney was served after the snacks had already arrived. Cutlery was poorly placed, and the staff showed little interest in correcting it. Even tissues were refilled in the tissue box after the food had been served. Most of the waiters appeared untrained and lacked basic table manners and serving etiquette, including the proper way to serve water and food. Service was painfully slow and far below the standard one would expect from a buffet restaurant. 2. Disappointing Food Quality The food was equally disappointing. The dal makhani was questionable in both appearance and preparation, while the paneer dish was excessively sweet and practically inedible. The kebabs were completely dry. The live pizza counter was another disappointment, as it used ready-made pizza bases. Calling this a live counter hardly matched the expectations of freshly prepared food. The chaat counter was particularly concerning. The papdi appeared stale, excessively oily, and had an unpleasant smell, raising serious concerns about its freshness and storage. 3. Poor Dessert Selection and Presentation The vegetarian dessert selection was extremely limited. The moong dal halwa looked unusual and unappetising, with a greenish appearance that was quite unexpected. Kulfi was unavailable, and vanilla seemed to be the only ice cream flavour offered. When we asked for other flavours, chocolate syrup and paan essence were simply added to vanilla ice cream. This was not the variety or quality expected from a buffet restaurant. 4. One Positive Point Mr. Suraj was the only staff member who stood out positively. He was attentive, appropriately dressed, and made a genuine effort to provide proper service despite the overall poor standards. He deserves appreciation for his professionalism. 5. Inadequate Washroom Facilities Another major concern was the inadequate washroom facility. A restaurant with more than 50 seats having only a single washroom is simply insufficient, especially during busy hours. This reflects poor planning and a lack of attention to basic customer convenience. For a restaurant offering a buffet dining experience, adequate and accessible washroom facilities should be a basic requirement. Final Verdict Almost every aspect of the experience, from service and food quality to presentation and dessert options, was disappointing. The restaurant needs serious improvement in staff training, food preparation, hygiene standards, and customer service. Based on my personal experience, I also find the overwhelmingly positive online reputation difficult to reconcile with what I encountered. I cannot verify whether any reviews are fake, but my experience certainly did not reflect the standard those reviews might lead a customer to expect. I would not recommend Castle Barbeque, Janakpuri, for a lunch buffet in its current state. A buffet is not just about the number of dishes available; it is about food quality, freshness, service, and the overall dining experience. Unfortunately, this visit failed on almost every front.

The dinner experience was very disappointing. The plates, spoons, and bowls at the main course counter were extremely dirty. We had vegetarian food, and there weren’t many options available. On top of that, there was no one available to prepare the dosa. When we went to the papdi chaat counter, the girl left without preparing or serving our chaat. Overall, the counter service was very poor, and the plates and spoons at the counter were dirty. The only good thing was the boy serving us at the table. He was very polite, helpful, and brought everything to us properly, using clean utensils. The table service was excellent, but the counter service and overall food experience were very disappointing.

I went to Castle Barbeque for the first time today and I would say there's a word called delicious which is not in their dictionary. I took motton rogan josh today and the chicken biryani. There was no aroma in the and gravy was made by only onion and tomato. I was feeling that motton was boiled in salt water then mixed with onion tomato gravy. Bill amount was 1650 higher than any other buffet restaurant but a discount was provided by Zomato online payment just to show that the customer has received a heavy discount. Nice marketing trick. Ultimately i won't suggest and it's waste of time, money and mood.

wrost experience of my life all food have no taste, paw baji was rotten, very slow service, and if buffet items are empty then it taking 15 minutes to refill, total time waste.
