First visit and my food was served with some extra drama, it seems like. The food and drinks were absolutely banging, so much so, that I truly was disappointed upon finding this extra unappetizing garnish in my meal halfway into it. A meal I was totally devouring until I spotted a MOSQUITO in it. The server quickly took my plate away and handed me the menu, offering to replace the dish. I understand, mishaps like this can happen. But what cannot and should not happen is the staff chuckling and appearing amused at the sight of the mosquito in my food. No apologies, no remorse, no genuine concern. Instead, everyone gathered around by the kitchen window, looking at the plate while chuckling and smiling like, oh so funny to be serving mosquitoes garnished like micro greens? Well whatever the inside joke was, the timing was wrong. Next time, please make sure the customer who has just been served an insect doesn’t also have to watch the staff smiling through it. So while the taste, presentation, flavors, textures, everything was 10/10; the nonchalant, unbothered attitude of the staff was just NOT IT. What would have gone much further than offering a replacement dish is a genuine apology and some sincere concern; even if only to save face. What would’ve been a 5/5 visit and review is now reduced to this and the mosquito shares less of the blame for that. So next time, before handing out the menu and offering a replacement, apologize. A simple sorry and a look of concern would be nice. Because I’m hoping that it’s not every day that you’d garnish food with mosquitoes?
