You walk into Zakir Nagar only if you know why you are going. Past the crammed autos & sea of people pouring in & out at 8 pm. If you come for the nihari in which meat is soft & tender but supple and doesn’t mix with the gravy. The tandoori dry to touch, but soft to chew, the way they are when right off the clay wall. And when you like it when they serve without fuss on steel plates. It is not a place for those who seek filtered lights/glass doors. It is crowded & textured, the cultural fabric that refuses to apologise for itself. My female friends who say they are from here but spend all their evenings in malls and cafes would not get this and that is okay. If it is not for you, it is not for you. But some of us still like to sit on those metal wood benches and as much as we do not wish our backs touching the back of the person who sits behind us and just taste the rogan and rightly cooked meat and know this is exactly how nihari is meant to be. The value is undeniably unbeatable. There is a family section on the lower level but still families would struggle a bit in here. I feel the ambience is more like boys’ hostel meal time.

It's really cold. And this winter makes you want to have warm meaty comfort food. The only place I can think of where all of these get fulfilled. Is Javed ki Nihari at Zakir Nagar. The place is behind the New Friends Colony area. Where Javed serves up his legendary Nihari and Nalli. Javed himself will serve you and offer an exquisite mix of Nihari and Nalli with hot Khamiri Rotis. Which make your day. The meat is superbly cooked overnight and is falling off the bone, the gravy is sumptuous with flavors of onion ginger & masala and all of the meaty goodness. The food experiences is only heightened with the experience of meeting Javed. He's a warm human being and really adds to the experience of The food It's a must try for this winter season. Rest is by his gives it a 5/5 and it's Hidden Gem in Delhi. Simply loved it, one of the best place to relish nehari in Delhi. I always order nehari with Nalli and khamiri roti, mouth melting pieces with flavourful gravy. I am drooling while writing this review. another best part is the reasonable pricing. keep it up team.

Best paya and ghee nihari in town. Get there early because the paya sells out REALLY quickly. Perfect especially for cold Delhi winters.

Friday evening in Ramzan. Streets flooded with people. Happy faces. Exciting chirping. Festive feeling. Top that up with the awesome Nalli Nahari and Khameeri roti at Javed. Had heard a lot about this place. Couldn’t have chosen a better day to visit. Nahari was perfectly cooked with a layer of Desi Ghee on the top. Melt in mouth feel. Piping fresh Khameeris straight out of the tandoor. Felt good to see a transparent layer instead of the orange one. Great experience and awesome taste. PS - No chicken item was available on the day. Couldn’t confirm the same for other days though.

Definitely the best nahari of Delhi. I was a fan of Kallu Nahari, but compared to Jawed, it's a no match. Drenched in desi ghee with chunky pieces of meat, though meat could've been cooked more which nahari has, but this was different and went really well. It goes really well with sheermal and khameeri roti both of which are available here. The places is crowded always, so it's advisable to get a takeaway. But it's something you can't skip on and it definitely is the best nahari of Dilli.

Desi Ghee Nalli Nihari is best in Town believe me, its so delicious with Tandoori roti it enhance the taste highly recommend you all do visit this place

The service at this hotel is very poor. We waited over 30 minutes just for roti, and when we asked about it, the staff responded rudely instead of apologizing, the staff responded very rudely and said, “People like you come here by the thousands every day.” This was the worst experience of my life. I strongly advise others not to visit this restaurant until they improve their service.otherwise, the same thing will happen to someone else next time.

ordered on phone from a freind recommendation. they did not send me any menu, just quoted and i paid. i realised they charged more than double the amount, i did not know and paid in advance. then i had to cancel well in advance and i was told refund will be given. i said i will take food later, i dont want refund. then they refused to refund saying it has been long. cheats they are.
