Khi khi is the kind of place where you just feel at ease as soon as you enter. The wall art, easy tables and expansive bar has been put together with such intention! Their menu is also a delight to read. They have a limited menu which is a welcome change from all the Delhi cafes serving everything under the sun. The hot honey prawns were subtle but with a kick at the end and the seemingly most popular dish chicken makhni was everything you’d expect from an elevated butter chicken, and the confit garlic gave it that edge that the restaurant promises. My server Boinu recommended me the right cocktail and also brought some lotus stem on the house while I waited. The music was so good with a mix of retro tunes and recent english classics to keep things interesting. I had a great time and can’t wait to be back.

We had a good time. The cocktails were good and the food was decent. Though I have one call out. The team needs to relax a bit. As soon as we put down our forks, the servers were over our heads to clear the table. As a frequent diner, I understand the urgency you want to create. But, let your diners have a moment. Otherwise, it’s a good date night place.

This is what the owner has responded with to my earlier review. Sadly, even more disappointing: Dear Aman, This is Navdeep, owner of Khi Khi. I came across your feedback and wanted to reach out personally. I have spoken to my team to understand what happened last evening. A table had been allocated for your reservation in our PDR but I completely understand that you weren’t comfortable being seated in the smoking section. Where I do feel we could have handled things better was after that. Once you chose to wait for another table, we should have communicated the waiting time and availability much more clearly rather than leaving you waiting with an expectation that we couldn’t fulfil quickly. I am sorry that the evening ended on that note. I had genuinely like to have you back at Khi Khi and personally make sure you’re looked after properly. I hope you will give us another chance. 🙏
