Visited the restaurant on Jamai Shoshti with family, including kids and elderly. Despite anticipating a wait, we ended up waiting over an hour to be seated. Once seated, we had to wait some more to get a suitable table. Although the food arrived promptly and was hot and delicious with authentic flavors, the experience was marred by several issues. The seating was extremely cramped, making it difficult to move. Moreover, the restaurant's hygiene was subpar, with food and menus scattered on the floor. Given the unpleasant experience, I wouldn't be visiting, again.

To begin with, one has to stand in a long queue. My first thought was because it could be because of good food. Unfortunately, it is because they are really really slow at their service. Even to clean a table they will make you wait for 15 minutes. Once you get in, again you have to keep asking for food and wait for another 20-25 minutes. The food is not freshly prepared because the ilish paturi I ordered seemed to have gone bad because of keeping outside for long hours. Food is so overpriced and tastes below average. They charge very high for packaging as well. If you confront them politely, they will simply ask you to not visit again. Extremely rude and unprofessional! 3 of us customers at the same time had the same issue but they showed arrogance and wrong attitude to each one of us. Went with high hope and love for Bengali food and people, but will never visit again.

I am extremely disappointed with my dining experience at Maa Tara Restaurant, Chittaranjan Park, Delhi. We ordered Luchi, Dal, and Murgi Jhol, but the food quality was far below expectations. The luchi was not fried properly and felt undercooked. The dal contained excessive salt, making it unpleasant to eat. The murgi jhol was bland and lacked flavor. The chicken pieces were unusually large, tough, and completely tasteless. Considering the reputation of Bengali cuisine in C.R. Park, this meal was a major letdown. The food quality, taste, and preparation did not justify the amount charged. I hope the restaurant pays more attention to food quality and consistency in the future. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this place. Date of Visit: 21 June 2026 Bill Amount: ₹1,606 Very disappointed. 👎

Maa Tara used to be a very good bengali restaurant but looks like they are unable to handle the fame they earned in last many years. They don’t have ore-reservation system of the tables which makes you wait and wait for your turn. Once seated and place your order, you need to wait and wait before your order arrives and that too incomplete. We had wait at least for an hour to be seated and another hour before our order arrived. It was a kind of harassment that you keep asking for the food you ordered and you’re paying for multiple times. Horrible service. The taste of food have also gone down significantly. Will never visit this place ever.

The quality of food here has gone completely to the dogs. They served us stale food. The koraishuti was outright rotten. When we confronted the waiter, he shamelessly admitted that the masala had been sitting in the fridge and that’s why it reeked like absolute garbage. Imagine serving this filth to customers! It was downright pathetic, unhygienic, and irresponsible. I’ve attached the bill as proof. Refrain from visiting this place unless you want to risk falling sick.

What a pathetic experience! The food, the staff, the service, everything was just pathetic. You are charging 600rs for two pieces of prawn and that too rotten. Upon complaining they just refused to accept it was spoilt and clearly foul smell was coming from it. Service was slow even though it was a weekday and it took 2 hours to have a complete dinner service. Advise is to best avoid this place, arrogant staff, rude behaviour and pathetic food

I had ordered a Shukto only but got my order after 30 mins and also it was rotten , sure to coz food poisoning and when we complained they threw money at us and also hit me on the ear so hard I was almost sent to the hospital and inwas about to be deaf for my life. please don't go they are so arrogant and disgusting. please those who face such issue pls come forward and close this before it takes some person life

The owner’s daughter or daughter in law whoever she is….is very much rude and only gives the preference to bengali people. She is very biased and has no sense to attend the customers. Rather the uncle who is most probably the owner of the restaurant is very sweet and helpful too!

DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE. Extremely rude stuff, food quality has degraded to abysmal levels. And the behaviour of the staff is absolutely pathetic.
