Date of visit: May 31, 2026 No of pax: 10 adults, 2 children We went for lunch and drinks with a bunch of friends at Ministry of Beer (CP) and the experience was somewhere between disappointing and fine. At the outset, I think it’s worth mentioning the staff was cordial and efficient and seemed to have performed their job quite ably (we were kept happy). I don’t think there is any issue there. The service was quite good overall. The ambience was a bit quirky, had a bare bones industrial feel to it (manifested by the Bumblebee statue on stairs landing leading to the second floor) and was overall fine . The crowd, which was thin when we arrived and swelled up substantially when we left, was sufficiently urbane. We ordered food items across a range of cuisines and both alcoholic (beer) and non-alcoholic drinks. The food overall was not upto the mark both in terms of quality and taste. The falafel did not feel fresh (we suspect it was the frozen variety) and was okay to taste, same story with the pita bread. The humus was better, probably because it was freshly prepared. Garlic bread was pretty good - served fresh and hot with the right amount of cheese. Fries were good, Pizza was okay, the Pad Thai noodles were too spicy (which was a bit surprising to me) while the chowmein/noodles were on the opposite end of the spectrum and a bit bland. The lemon chicken was barely passable, could have been better though. The Hefeweizen beer was a standout for me - struck the right balance of crispiness and refreshing- while the Aamsutra beer and virgin Pina Colada were pretty good too. Rest of the drinks were okay. I feel it’s one of those places where you can have a good time with friends over good beer, just keep your expectations about their food in check (which wouldn’t be an issue once you are a couple of pints through). everything was good except live music. had to leave early because it was unbearably loud for a relatively small space on 2nd floor. please ensure music is soothing to ears so that people can also talk to each other.

We walked in with our rucksack and were welcomed very distastefully. The servers were rude and refused to attend to us properly. Very disappointing.
