Shocking and unacceptable experience at Ru-Bar-Ru. The restaurant forcibly added a staff contribution charge to my bill without my consent. I clearly informed them that I did not agree to pay this charge, which is my constitutional right as a consumer in India. Despite this, they aggressively insisted and went as far as illegally detaining me inside the restaurant, refusing to let me leave until I paid the charge. This is not just unethical — it is illegal. Forcing a customer to pay a voluntary charge and physically restricting their movement is a serious offence. I will be filing formal complaints with the consumer court and the local police authorities, and I will ensure that the owner and the franchise management are held fully accountable for this coercive and illegal behavior. I am attaching video evidence and a copy of the bill as proof of this incident. To all potential customers: visit this place at your own risk. No one deserves to face such harassment over an unjust char

the food was below average. when the waiter while taking the order got to know that the booking is through District and we have "2 free drinks" as a part of the booking mentioned that it is only Kamikaze shots and nothing else. Though asked for alcoholic shots, it barely tasted anything alcoholic. we then ordered JimBeam orange 30ml, based on the colour of the liquor served one could easily tell that it was diluted. lastly when asked for bill 'staff contribution of 10%" was added to it, when asked to remove they said it's legal and we have to pay since this booking was through District but if we choose to pay them directly they will waive if off. I have been using the District platform for ages, I have never heard of this at another outlet before. so District, if you are party to this robbery from the customer, you better mend it for good, and if not, you better take action against this outlet.

Illegal billing practices. They forced us to pay a service charge and refused to remove it, which is completely against government regulations. It’s a shame because the food might have been fine, but the lack of transparency and respect for consumer rights ruined the entire evening. Avoid if you don't like being overcharged by force.

They are imposing service tax on customers and claiming that the bookings done via zomato will have to pay service charges as per zomato’s policies but that is a lie. Check the justification given by zomato. Zomato is denying that and says restaurant is responsible.
