The biggest plus point of Roots Café is the greenery. The premises, of which the café is a part, support several sustainability-related initiatives. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. Among non-vegetarian items, only eggs are served. We ordered sabudana fingers, chilli garlic rice noodles, scrambled eggs, kokum masala soda, and kola saul payokh (black rice pudding) for dessert. For me, the highlight was the dessert, which I would rank highly. The drink was refreshing and the rice noodles were fine. The sabudana fingers were a bit too hot for our liking. Service was fine. The price may appear slightly on the higher side for some items, but considering the overall setting and location, it is probably reasonable.

Sunday lunch , overcrowded , had to wait for 40 mnts , ordered cheese masala omelette 4/5 , Palak patta chat 3/5 , moon dal chilla 3/5 and vada Pao 4/5 . Service was quick 10 mnts . After a nice walk it makes sense to have a bite here .

⭐⭐ Overhyped, honestly. Went for Sunday brunch and had to wait 20 mins before being seated. The ambience is nice since it’s set inside a park and the service was decent, I’ll give them that. But the food? Disappointing. We tried the Sabudana Fingers, Himachali Bhaturu and Palak Patta Chaat - none of them really stood out or justified the wait or the hype around this place. Wouldn’t recommend it as a breakfast or brunch spot. Still can’t figure out what all the fuss is about.
