I’m a writer (and Urdu teacher) and lover of Urdu poetry. So, i knew this place from my work acquaintances. But i started visiting only recently Fair disclaimer: Saqi Bar is not everyone’s cup of tea. It has an oldie energy that appeals to few millennials (if you find fellow Saqi-connoisseurs, hold them close😅) Highlights: * reasonable alcohol with a 70s bar vibe. Happy hours. Beer always comes with a care package of salted peanuts (: * great ambience if you’re old school, like vintage decor and love Urdu ghazals like i do (Jagjit & Chitra Singh, Mehdi Hasan playlists loop here) * good food that hasn’t done much to keep up with evolving cuisines (but who cares?). Standard north-Indian food but done well. * the staff is courteous enough that i’ve wined and dined as a solo woman at 11 pm. With all my life in Delhi, i vouch this is extremely rare! * it’s quiet & fuss free. I mostly take a book to read and have even done my writing work here *the toilet could do with more regular cleaning and less stink though.

Place is opposite to My Bar Restaurant and Lounge and in line to Jungle Jamboree. I went to this place on number of occasions with one of my former colleague and friend, when we wanted a light atmosphere and could not get that in my favorite My Bar just opposite to it. It is a good place to have beer and a good chit chat. Bar is an Old fashioned one and gives u a feel of bar in 80s Bollywood movies, which itself makes a different experience and is quite spacious as well. We have ordered Budweiser, Carlsberg Elephant or Tuborg on various occasion. I prefer Budweiser over any other beer because of its little sweet taste. Beer was served chilled as expected on our favorite corner seats and people were quick on service. Chakna we ordered were mainly French Fries, Peanuts or Murg tandoori Half. Quantity happens to be just appropriate in case of Murg Tandoori Half where as other two items were more than appropriate and taste was better than expected, this made us feel, though the hotel is old but yet trying there best to be in the race of retaining and acquiring customer. Once boozed to our levels we have always ordered Murg Biryani, which was always rich in taste and quantity enough to serve two after long boozing session.

Okay so I’ve been to saqi quite a few times now. It’s an old bar which was established in 1968 it’s a place which will take you back in time. The only reason I keep coming back to this place is not just the cheap alcohol but also the food which is quite amazing considering the fact that it’s not such a popular bar. They have added a few new items to the menu and their fish fingers are to die for. Compliments to the chef. Service is great the waiters are polite and hospitable. The only thing I don’t like is the fact that they keep the lights really dim.

A retro place with Old 80s look. Cheap alcohol and moderately priced food. We were 6 and with almost 4 drinks each, and with starter and main course food, the bill came out to be close to 900 per person (during happy hours where there is 20% off, between 11 am and 7 pm). Don’t go there for the ambience or food, go there for the drinks and almost empty drinks area (if you wish to talk and spend some good time with friends). PS: place felt like mostly a guys place.

All the prices mentioned in the menu here are hiked up by Rs 100 or so even for the cheapest brands. A bottle of Budweiser will cost you Rs 562 with tax (Rs 450 without tax), a bottle of Kingfisher will be Rs 438 (Rs 350 without tax). The ambience is quite old and fading. The toilets are dirty. Fish fingers with chips and tartar sauce is great. The servers are overwhelmed on busy days and kitchen is super slow. Mr Sanjay is one of the more competent guys there. Least the restaurant can do is clean the loo more often.

As bad as it can get. The bar is shady. Air Conditioning was one of the worst I've ever came across in a dining restaurant in NCR. Food is average. Service is Pathetic to the core. These guys needs to buckle up.

Very rude and ill-mannered staff. Extremely disappointing experience. The food and ambience mean nothing when the staff behaves disrespectfully. During payment, one of the waiters was rude, impatient, and outright misbehaved raising his tone and making the interaction uncomfortable for no reason at all. Paying customers should not be treated like they’re doing the restaurant a favour. This kind of attitude completely ruins the experience and shows a serious lack of staff training and accountability. I would think twice before returning, and management really needs to address how their staff speaks to guests especially at something as basic as billing
