The moment I entered sidecar, it was just completely change in the atmosphere, the ambience, the lighting, the seating arrangement. Everything was fabulous. The manager, Mr. Naveen, was a great host. He just not only took care of us but also told us great stories and, based on our palate, suggested drinks. The food there was amazing. We ordered 3 food items: - 5-spice chicken - Loaded nachos - Mushroom bao Everything was as tasty as it could be. It was all fresh and had the perfect amount of spices in it. If you don't know what to order for a drink, I would suggest ordering cilantro. It will take your heart away.

It's easy to see why this place was the #1 bar in India for years. The drinks, the playlist, the staff — all are par excellence. Naveen is a legend!

The food is amazing. The order took a a lot of time to come. We had to ask multiple times.

The 3 stars are entirely for the staff—attentive, warm, and excellent throughout. Unfortunately, the food was below average, and the cocktails were overly sweet and forgettable. For a bar ranked among India's best, nothing really stood out, especially considering the premium prices. Many call the space cozy, but we found it cramped rather than intimate. When you're spending close to ₹20,000, you'd expect a better overall experience and atmosphere.

Drinks are good. But service is extremely slow. We ordered 2 shots. Writing this review rn and it’s been 45 mins + since we ordered the shots and we still haven’t got them.

I've been anticipating my first visit to Sidecar for several years now, ever since the cocktail-forward spot started getting onto best-in-the world lists (currently their website claims #18 in Asia, and #26 in the world). So I was rather surprised to be greeted with indifferent service, a forgotten food order, a misleading menu, and an incorrect bill, all with no apology or even concern. The sort of stuff run-of-the-mill neighborhood bars get right every day. We arrived after a long, lunchless day of work, so we immediately ordered nachos, before turning to cocktails. The menu makes the sort of attention-grabbing claim you expect from world-class bars: "Ask for any classic cocktail, original or twisted. Rs 940/1095." I asked for a Last Word, which the bartender told me wasn't possible. No problem, it has some tricky ingredients. I was a little surprised not to get an explanation, or apology, or a recommendation for something similar. But I asked if a Sazerac was possible, and the bartender assured me that it was. 20 minutes later, I still didn't have food or a drink. At the 25 minute mark, both bartenders came over and told me that they were out of most of their rye whiskey, so they would have to charge me Rs 3,000 for a Sazerac. I politely declined. I found Templeton (not a high-end rye) listed in their menu for Rs 895, and asked if they had it in stock. They said they did, and revised the Sazerac price downward to Rs 2,000. I felt odd haggling, so I just asked them to make me a Sidecar for a normal cocktail price. It was good! We sipped our cocktails and waited on our nachos. Finally, at the 45 minute mark, we asked the bartender about our food order. They said they would "check on it," and then I watched them walk to the register and enter the order for the first time. We waited another 10 minutes, then explicitly asked them if they had forgotten to enter the order when we arrived. The bartender admitted they had, and their colleague slammed some spiced peanuts down in front of us without an apology. We ordered a 3rd cocktail (tasty) to split as we continued waiting on our nachos, which finally arrived an hour after we ordered. When we asked for the bill, I noticed a cocktail was missing. I didn't want to cap my night off by being accused of drinking and dashing, so I flagged it for another bartender to see if they had decided to comp us a drink. Nope, they just messed up again! They returned with a new bill with the cocktail added back on. At this point, I expressed my disappointment with every aspect of the service, and the bartender said they needed to talk to their manager to see if anything could be done. After another 10 minute wait, they let us pay the original bill they gave us, sans the price of one cocktail. Suffice to say this wasn't the best bar experience I've had in the neighborhood, let alone the world.
