I recently visited Tonino, and while the setting has its charm, the overall experience felt underwhelming, especially considering the pricing. The restaurant clearly aims to deliver an authentic Italian experience, from the menu design to the preparation style. However, it ends up in an awkward middle ground. The food isn’t truly reminiscent of what you’d expect in Italy, but at the same time, it doesn’t adapt enough to Indian preferences either. The result is something that feels neither here nor there. The menu is quite limited, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if the execution is exceptional, but that wasn’t the case here. A few dishes we tried were decent, but nothing stood out or justified a revisit. The flavors felt restrained, and at times, lacking the depth or character you’d expect at this price point. Ambience-wise, Tonino does score better. The rustic, villa-style setup gives it a relaxed, slightly upscale vibe: nice for a quiet evening. Service was polite, though not particularly memorable. Where it really falls short is value for money. The pricing is firmly in the premium bracket, but the food and overall experience don’t quite match up. You’re left expecting more, either in terms of authenticity, creativity, or even just stronger flavors. Overall, Tonino feels like it’s trying hard to position itself as an authentic Italian destination, but doesn’t fully deliver on that promise. For the price, there are better and more satisfying dining options in Delhi.

For an Italian restaurant that competes in Delhi, it’s astonishing how poor the quality of food is. The first dish suggested was chicken skewers because it was “Indian style” (inedible), then we got the pork ribs (very average). My friend then asked for the chef and requested one good dish that he knew and we agreed on an asparagus risotto which looked like curd rice and tasted worse. The chef wasn’t even keen on feedback. We paid the over priced bill and left hungry - never again. Its glory days are gone!

I mean atleast give us a tasteful experience if you are charging a whopping 1100 bucks for a starter dish. first of all, it was a shock seeing the prices. They were more than double of what was mentioned on their zomato menu. Arancini was mentioned at around 450 in their online menu. But we were charged 950 plus taxes plus service charge. How can zomato allow this? Even is it's an old menu, they should have replaced it but clearly they are doing it on purpose.

Very average food- have had better Italian at better cost elsewhere. Overhyped!
