Classic old school fantastic. Good food good service. Their brand outlets sadly can’t compare with the original CP joint 😮💨

I had a mixed experience at United Coffee House. We ordered a cold coffee frappe and a rose sherbet, both of which were enjoyable. Later, we also tried the asparagus sushi, which was decent but nothing exceptional. What affected the experience was the staff’s behavior. After 1 PM, they were quite insistent that we order full food items and made it clear that sitting only for coffee was not acceptable, otherwise we would need to vacate the table. The approach felt a bit rude and unnecessary, which dampened the overall experience. The food and drinks were fine, but the service could definitely be more polite and accommodating.

I found that the food quality has significantly declined. We ordered items like Manchurian, spring rolls, noodles and more. The Manchurian was completely dry and lacked flavor, and the spring rolls were disappointing. I visited before too but this time it was disappointing.

The staff was very sarcastic and rude. Didn't entertained families with kids properly.

Visited United Coffee House, Connaught Place on 15 Feb 2026 at around 9:19 PM to celebrate my wedding anniversary — a day meant to be special and memorable. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be deeply disappointing due to the unprofessional and disrespectful conduct of the Manager on Duty and service staff. We ordered two coffees along with light snacks. Immediately, the staff’s attitude changed and we were informed that coffee is not served during dinner hours. My husband politely pointed out that wine was being served and both beverages are listed on the same menu, making the restriction seem arbitrary and inconsistent. The Manager on Duty then openly ignored our table and made a disparaging remark: “This is not the time for coffee, it is dinner time. We do not serve coffee at this time, but if you order something along with it, we will take the order.” The tone was dismissive and condescending, making us feel unwelcome and undervalued on what was meant to be our special day. Following this, the staff also displayed ignoring expressions and poor service behavior. For a place that prides itself on heritage hospitality, this elitist and discourteous treatment was shocking. Guests should not be judged or treated differently based on what they choose to order. Truly disheartening experience.

Heart breaking to say the least. We as a family have been going to UCH for now over 40 years. Never has such apathetic treatment been rendered to us. We have religiously been loyal customers of UCH CP every single Saturday since I remember. Although last few times, the coffee was not the best but on requesting the staff (most of the old staff know us), they did their best. However, today on our visit, we were served spoilt rancid smelly wafers. When I told the server (probably someone new), he promptly picked up the wafers and never returned. When I asked the "manager", a Mr. Gaurav about it, he said "hata toh diye aapke table se", to which I said that why are serving spoilt food and then not even replenishing it, he just replied with "okay ma'am" and left. I did not pick it up further because maybe with new staff UCH is keen on getting new customers and leaving behind the old loyalists.

Very disappointing billing practice at United Coffee House, Connaught Place. They added a “Discretionary Staff Contribution” (₹154.44) without asking for my consent. Service charge in India is completely optional as per consumer guidelines, and restaurants cannot force customers to pay it. On top of that, they charged GST on the service charge, which is extremely questionable because service charge is meant to be a voluntary tip, not a taxable service. This kind of billing practice feels misleading and unfair to customers. Always check your bill carefully before paying and ask them to remove the service charge if you don’t agree to it. Consumers should be aware of their rights and restaurants should maintain transparent billing pract
