Our expectations with Zambar were very high and to be fair, the food did not disappoint at all. We ordered the ghee podi dosa, vegetable Chettinad dosa, mini ghee podi idli, appam, chicken Chettinad, tawa cheese idli with some memorable drinks such as Anna Colada, Watermelon Mojito, Kokum Lemonade. The food was well presented and portion sizes were generous. The sambar and the chutneys were nice and the dosas were crisp with just the right amount of ghee. The chicken chettinad did not disappoint either and the appams were soft, clearly the highpoints of our dinner. The ambience was cosy with just the perfect volume and choice of music. The downside however, was the service. Upon reaching, we had informed the server that we had a table booking through Zomato app and the restaurant was empty at that point of time with our group being the second table occupied there. We placed the order and it took a good 60 minutes for our beverages and food to arrive at the table. While I understand that the order was large since we were a group of eight but even after repeated reminders, our drinks arrived after an hour. Finally, when the bill arrived, we didn't notice the sneaky staff contributory charges (later explained to us as tips)added to our bill amounting to an extra charge of 850/- rupees over and above the SGST that we had already paid. The amount was arbitrary and we weren't asked if we were willing to pay this. Since we had already made the payment, we could not ask for a refund of the tip. The servers and the manager were polite but the latter half of our experience was not pleasant as the consumer should be informed of additional chargers levied on them. The service was slow and this seemed exclusive for our table only.

Booked a dinner for my mother and her friend. Service was appalling with them having to ask for something even as basic as water refills. Furthermore, when they asked for the leftover food to be packed (which was a huge quantity), they were left waiting for a long time. On following up on what was taking so long, they were told that the server was new and had thrown away the food in the bin! They then proceeded to pack some random chicken curries and handed it to my mother, which she, obviously, declined. They finally readied a portion of the actual order, which was a much smaller portion than what should have been packed. And then the audacity to add a Staff Contribution amount of INR 145 for such shoddy service. This isn't just about the service...this is also about ruining the evening for two senior ladies who walked in very eagerly to a joint that comes heavily recommended. Would urge the management to look into service quality and take remedial action. This isn't how Zambar has ever been.

I ordered vegetable Upma which I do very often through zomato via Zambar but unfortunately I got incomplete order deliver and this was the 15 to 16 th time I have placed the order without any issue but this time it was very upsetting moment for me as a customer and even I tried reaching out to restaurant and zomato to report this but nothing was resolved and now I have no option left to not to buy food form this restaurant due to my experience this was not a big deal but the trust is broken I am very unhappy due to this hence writing the review this would had happened due to mistake but no body acknowledge the inconvenience neither tried to correct this which was the worst part and it effected my experience

I visited Zambar expecting authentic dosa based on its high online ratings, but the experience was disappointing. The dosa batter tasted over-fermented, which significantly affected the flavor. When we raised this with the chef, we were told that this level of fermentation was “fine,” which was surprising and unconvincing. Unfortunately, this experience didn’t match the expectations set by the restaurant’s reputation. I wouldn’t recommend relying solely on online ratings when choosing this place.

the portion has been reduced and the prices have been inflated plus the contribution. you should think about your strategy else you will start losing footfall.
