This is very old restaurant and it’s my first time visit . Never miss sambar idli , vada & coffee. This place is heaven for tourists.

I reached Pondicherry and I straightaway went to Promenade Beach to see the sunrise. And while returning by 6.30, I got really really hungry. This was the only restaurant which opens at 6 to feed people like me and I am very grateful for that. They serve typical Tamil dishes. I had Idli Sambhar and Pongal. I liked chutney the least. The winner clearly was that ghee oozing Pongal, surprising you with bits and pieces of coconut, ginger underneath your teeth. It was invigorating. Coffee was less sweet, much bitter..Just the way I like. I did not have chance to go back there, but this place will always be special to me as my 'Hunger Savior'

A last-minute plan, but very satisfied with the aftertaste of the dishes. We had chole with channa, Mysore bondas, and Bombay toast. I liked all of them. Mysore bondas were fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. I would suggest having the bombay toast as the first dish in case you're planning to have it because it is huge and we were not able to finish it as the last dish since we were pretty full by the time we had it.

Good place. Mostly crowded. Love the coffee and South Indian food. Unfortunately menu was limited in the morning. We tried masala dosa, sambar vada, idly and puri masala. Food was great. Though the portion size of sambar must be increased. Rest everything was great specially the strong coffee. You can also buy original coffee powder from there.

Got here at around lunch time and the place was shockingly empty, we switched on the fans ourself, sat down, someone had left behind their tablet covering on the chair, uch. Wanted to have their coffee but it was SO HOT! so we tried their curd Vada, rose milk and badam milk. The rose and badam milk tasted of camphor, which isn't my favourite but it was a refreshing drink. The Vada was good, got some cutlets packed, they were okay too! Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Value for money: 3/5

Average food. We ordered for dosa and idiapam. Both were served cold and chutney and sambhar was just okay. Courteous and friendly staff.

Called 3 servers in a span of 15min to clean but they didn't come. Had to repeat order but didn't get correct items. Or got 2 teas with sugar instead of 2 coffees without. The server was disgruntled and irritated when I cross checked what he took as order, and then failed to bring 2 of the 5 items. We left without eating half of what we'd ordered.

Took them more than 15 minutes to just get me menu that too after asking several times and then another 40 min to get the partial order..worst part was the attitude of the staff the guy kept ignoring even after calling 5-6 times...worst experience won't recommend to anyone..
