A hidden gem. Loved the food. Ambience is good with really good staff. Great service. Would totally recommend it.

The person who helps with the order is quite helpful with selection of items. His standard answer on ‘how much time the order will take’ is 25 minutes and to kill time he suggests lime soda. But till 25 minutes it’s OK, we waited more than an hour for ‘Grilled fish’ !!! Later they apologised that the order was actually delivered to someone else. It might be one of their cases but I don’t visit Pondy every month to spend hours in a single restaurant!! Moreover I felt they were accepting more guests in a quest to serve but they were understaffed to cater properly. After the initial order I didn’t dare to order anything else, as for even a ‘Raita’ his standard answer was - ‘it will take 25 minutes’!!!

The price was mid premium for the ambience of French style dhabha. The most disappointing thing was, I was hungry and asked them to get one dish first and later I will order other dishes. They waiter rejected that and told me order all food at once. After ordering, they mentioned it will take 25 mins for order preparation and it took more than that. The restaurant was not busy only 3 tables with hardly 10 guests.

A friend suggested this place for live music on Saturdays. So we visited but it was over crowded so we couldn't stay for long. We had only beer. I liked the vibe and the ambience.

Today, on July 1st, I had the opportunity to visit a particular place called Madam chante in Pondicherry. In our group, there were seven adults accompanied by a child. After placing our food and drink orders, we initially intended to leave the restaurant within 5 to 10 minutes. However, when we approached the staff to cancel the order, they insisted that we should at least have the drinks we had ordered, specifically the beers. Reluctantly, we agreed to consume the drinks before departing. Once we finished our drinks, much to our surprise, the staff purposely brought two additional mugs. We expressed our dissatisfaction, pointing out that this was unfair since they had intentionally provided us with extra drinks. Unfortunately, rather than addressing the issue, the owner of the establishment confronted us and began shouting. At that point, we decided to record the incident. To our shock and dismay, the owner physically assaulted us by twisting our hands and pushing us. As the situation escalated, one of our female friends began recording the incident, which further agitated the owner, leading to another push. He even resorted to threats, claiming that he would harm us and prevent us from leaving the city. This behavior was utterly unacceptable, and he displayed a complete lack of respect towards two women in the middle of the restaurant, behaving more like a thug than a respectable establishment owner. We possess video evidence of the entire incident, and I strongly advise against anyone planning to visit this cafe. It is simply not worth it. The owner's appalling behaviour and utter disregard for basic manners make this place an unsuitable choice for anyone seeking a pleasant experience

The experience was worst. I would never recommend this place. We had visited the city for the first time as a tourist and we lost one of our vehicle. We had parked in front of this hotel, had dinner there. And when we walked towards our vehicle after finishing, it was missing. In spite of several humble request bh my friend the manager yelled at her and didn’t help at all. There was no humanity plus the food was bad too.

Pathetic place with careless staff and rude owner, spoilt our day and mood, just paid them the money for the food which they never served… This place attracts you with ambiance but avoid if you do t wanna spoil your day.

Very worst . Ambience is ok but price is too much and waiting time is too too much. One lemon soda is 100rs and fresh fruit juice is 100rs but no fruit at all only water. Please avoid to go here.

The waiters were not at all polite as well as the service was bad. The taste of the food was even worse. The restaurant just looks decent from outside. Ambience also not good.

Very bad food, please avoid. hot chocolate is basically chocolate powder added in milk. white sauce pasta is sweet. french fries without salt
