It’s hard to count how many times I've been to Marc’s Café, but every time I plan a trip to Pondicherry or somewhere nearby, I make it a point to stop by. There's just something about the vibe of this place that's truly special, and I can't get enough of their coffee and kombucha. On my last visit, I treated myself to their kombucha tasting experience, which included six different flavors aka Pineapple, Coffee, Ginger, Cascara, Acerola and Beetroot kombucha. I personally loved Coffee kombucha and Acerola kombucha. Acerola kombucha is made from bread and Cascara kombucha is made with coffee skin. I also indulged in their hot and cold Cacao, an iceberg cold coffee, a Spanish omelette, and a V60 manual brew with medium roast beans. Their pastries are also a must-try—both the butter and almond croissants are fantastic. And since they sell coffee beans, I made sure to pick some up for manual brews at home.

After a visit to Auroville, which happens whenever I visit Pondy, I chanced upon this fantastic cafe, and it's been quite an extraordinary delight. I love English-style breakfasts, and when I glanced at their menu, I noticed the Big Ben order, which was quite overwhelming for my stomach and which I thoroughly enjoyed. This cafe is a must-visit if you go towards Auroville. And to you, Marc's Cafe, you are my new favourite cafe in Auroville. They have eggs, bacon, toast with butter, jam, chai tea, coffee, and a mixed fruit juice (I might have missed an item).

It’s a decent place if you’re vegan or vegetarian. There are no non veg options. Also they’ve made simple food so complex just to appeal to the foreigners. I’d suggest to just keep it simple which is beautiful.

I recently visited Marc's cafe and unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected. Despite all the hype surrounding this place, my visit was a letdown in several ways. Firstly, the service was painfully slow. We waited an excessive amount of time just to get our order taken, and it took even longer for the food to arrive. When it finally did, it was underwhelming, to say the least. The dishes were bland and lacked basic seasoning, with not even a hint of salt to bring out the flavors. What made the experience even more frustrating was the staff's attitude. When we raised concerns about the food, they were dismissive and refused to admit any fault. It felt like they were more concerned with maintaining their image than ensuring a quality dining experience for their customers. Overall, this cafe is an overhyped spot that fails to deliver on its promises. The slow service, tasteless food, and unaccountable staff made for a disappointing meal. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying dining experience.

Been here on a recent trip to Auroville from Bangalore and I did not like the experience. It was an extended weekend so the place was very crowded which is obvious. They told us that the waiting time would be more than an hour in the most rude way possible. After agreeing to wait, they said that we would have to wait on the street outside. My friend (who is a girl btw) wanted to use the restroom in the meantime. The owner of the cafe responded to her extremely rudely saying 'It's only for customers!'. We were a customer and she was a girl. I couldn't understand why a girl would be denied washroom access. After a long wait when we finally got the table and ordered a cold coffee (which apparently was the most famous from their limited menu) they told us that it was unavailable because they ran out of ice! Ran out of ice? Did not like the service at all so finally had to walk out.

We visited this place today morning. Had one of the worst experiences ever in terms of the service provided. The cafe is running short staffed, and their attitude towards customers is very poor especially the cashier lady. The food was sub par as well (burnt ham is for instance) making our experience much worse. Definitely not worth visiting. I have been to many cafés and there was never a need for me to write a bad review but Marc’s cafe made me write one.

We oberseved the staff was biased towards foreigners. The staff helped them get seats way faster even going out of their way to change the seating arrangement. We waited for 20 mins and left the cafe. Please be informed that Indians may face discrimination.
