Found this restaurant and had good reviews. And it does live up to its name. Ordered Vada samabar and masala dosa. The chutneys were amazing. Dosa's exquisite! We also ordered Juices which were fresh!

South Indian thali is very good. Their sambar rice is too yummy. soup served along with thali is a special mention. absolutely value for money

Nice environment around the place. Heaven for veg and North Indian dishes in pondicherry. World class dosas. Staffs are very friendly. We enjoyed our lunch perfectly fine.

Good place. We had breakfast and lunch. Helpful and courteous staff. Jain coconut chutney available. Jain palak paneer was tasty and nice.

The place has relaxed ambience and is a good breakfast option for all (especially vegetarians). The service is quite quick and taste of food is also decent. The place does not have a menu card for breakfast and this allows them to charge rates based on day of week or type of visitor (eg: premium amount to visitors). The price I was charged was even higher than the ones listed on Zomato.

Have to give one star because there is no zero star option. We read the earlier reviews and seeing what was written we decided to try the food here. Cannot rate the food because we weren't served any. We reached the restaurant, sat and placed our order (thali and curd rice). Guests who arrived after us or around the same time as us were promptly served water — something very basic — while we had to wait and eventually ask for it. The people who placed orders after us were being served and we waited. In-fact, a group of people who came after us were being served and we weren't. The table behind us was being served the meals and I don't know what amount of effort it really takes to move a little ahead and serve the same thing on our table. When we informed the service personnel that we have a bus to catch and if they could be served our food a little quickly (this was after 15-20 mins of wait), that person moved to another part of the hall and started with some random work and did not even bother to respond or get us the food. This was the worst worst thing and we do not know why this was happening. We ultimately chose to leave and did not get time to have lunch elsewhere because these people wasted 20-25 mins and we had to board the bus hungry and tired and we ultimately ended up eating directly at 9 that night.This was one of the worst service experiences we have had. We would not consider visiting this restaurant again.

I have been to other Surguru Restaurants in Pondicherry, the food and service is quite good if you are looking for a pure veg place. However particularly this Surguru Restaurant has disappointed me. The pathetic experience I had with any restaurant. The people there take wrong orders and then deny replacement, they didn't even try to acknowledge their mistake. It's like forcing us to eat south indian meal when we are north indians. Being in service industry, customer satisfaction is the key but it seems they don't care. On top of it, the meal which we were served, they didn't served most of the things out of it. When asked upon they denied that we don't have. While placing the order itself people should intimate such things I guess. Anyways the most upsetting part is they didn't even tried to realise their mistake.

Absolute crap! Ordered for 3 vadas and waited for 15-20 minutes and still didn’t get them. Got up and left and nobody cared to stop us too. Don’t think you should go here no matter what anybody says.

Uncooked food, delayed service, staff doesn't listen to your requests. All paneer dishes are made in same gravy. Only take south indian meals.
