For authentic Tamilian food in Pune, Ammachi Mess is truly a hidden gem. I had already seen a few videos of this place earlier, but somehow never got the chance to visit. Finally, I made it here today. Even though I’m a Maharashtrian, I personally love South Indian food. And the thought of enjoying so many dishes served on a traditional banana leaf had me really excited. I visited especially to enjoy their Pongal feast. It included almost 24 different food items and was extremely satisfying. Every dish was prepared in a completely traditional way, and you could genuinely taste the authenticity in each bite. The ambiance is calm and soothing. Despite it being a weekday, the place had a steady flow of customers, which itself says a lot. If you’re a true South Indian food lover, Ammachi Mess is definitely a place you should visit.

Ammachi Mess serves authentic Tamil Nadu cuisine that will blow you away - the unlimited thali have so many options, and the chicken sukka, sambar, and fish gravy are all spot on.

Went here with a hope to have good Tamilnadu style meals. Ordered veg meal and fish meal Veg meal: Lacked flavour in most dishes. Ghee was ladled after rice was put. I am sorry that I did not know we eat ghee as if it's sambar or rasam. Kuzhambu lacked any taste. Filled with garlic and barely any flavour. Sambar and podi were good The halwa was added along with pickle and was easily mistaken as something else. The potato sabji had a raw taste of chilli powder and cabbage poriyal was very bland. Rasam was not even average. The South Indian in me was disappointed at various levels. To top this the service was pathetic. Rice all over the person eating. Coming to the fish meals the extra items none met the taste. chicken and mutton kuzhambu didn't even have a single tiny piece of meat. Fish kuzhambu had a very small piece of fish. Prawn fried was oily, tasteless and cold. Waste of money and efforts. Utter disappointment

after seeing mouthwatering add on Instagram, Instagram insisted my colleagues to visit this place and that was the big mistake. we ordered chicken meal and veg meal and were told meal not non sharing as it's unlimited. absolutely makes sense. now let's talk about food. some of the items were taken from refrigerator and reheated, nothing on the plate was tasty infact analog subji was rotten. in meal, some asked for second serving of chicken gravy , like I said before we were told its unlimited but in seconds serving they gave only curry and not piece. mind you even in 1st serving they gave one tiny piece. overall we had a bad experience and will not recommend this place to anyone

Looking like it is on the verge of closing down. The food that was served was stale, some items in the thali were served straight out of fridge without even bothering to reheat, couple of vegetables had gone bad. On highlighting the manager was indifferent, he simply said haan abhi fekne ko bola hai, did not even bother to apologize and simply said he will provide us complementary food in the next visit😡. At least from my side there is not going to be a next visit and I will not recommend it to anyone, best to avoid!
