Our usual breakfast venue for Sunday after mass - ventured to BTR @ SB Road. Our exploration started with the menu for our favourite dishes and had Masala Podi Ghee Dosa , Garlic Podi Ghee Dosa , Sada Masala Dosa , Podi Idli and favourite filter coffee which was delicious and mouth watering. So it’s a must visit for all to have morning or evening snacks. Good work Team BTR for making us feel special at your space…

Service is quick and efficient, even during busy hours, though you may have to wait briefly on weekends since the place is quite popular. Ambience solid. Bright lights and many fans. Two seating zones. Indoor allowed for outsiders. Outdoor for Youthville residents. One shared washroom. Menu limited. South Indian on paper, Puneri taste in reality. Does not match Bengaluru flavor. Name sets wrong expectation. Food decent, not worth a detour. Staff kept checking and nudging while I waited for a friend, even after ordering. Felt like they wanted the table freed. Likely rush hour. Good setup. Average food. Brand promise not met.

Starting with the positives: 1. Themed interior 2. 2 of the dishes I ordered: Pineapple sheera and Buttermilk What doesn’t work: To put it simply, it is a average tiffin place. It is not a place you can expect authentic, flavourful Bangalore tiffin. (If you have had authentic tiffin in Bangalore, you won’t find this place that nice. The batter they use for Uttapam and Dosa doesn’t seem authentic. Too much ghee. Chutneys are underwhelming.

The food is good but pathetic staff. The captains are unresponsive, they just stand at a place staring. The stewards take the order and are better at service. Om helped us with the orders and he saved the day or we would have been more frustrated.

Happy to see a South Indian joint off SB road but after each visit the quality is degrading. 1. Green chatni was extremely salty. When asked to change, the waiter got with chatni diluted with water. 2. Took 30+ mins to receive my idli-podi. I was told the batter got over. 3. Had to keep looking for the captain to take order. 4. When taking coffee order, please ask with or without sugar. 5. Please work on your washroom/toilet. To restaurant owners: Please take care of quality of food and service. There is a lot to learn from Vaishali, Rupali and other Udupi restaurants in Pune.

Horrible service, average food and unnecessary attitude. After hearing good reviews, we went here expecting some nice South Indian breakfast on a quiet Sunday morning but loud music and slow inattentive service spoiled the experience. When asked to reduce the volume, the person at the counter started arguing with us that the music is barely audible over the chatter of people. Had to ask for chutney 5 times before it was actually served, same with the coffee decoction. The taste of the food was nothing out of the ordinary. Finally when we asked for a parcel to take home for some family members, we were told that "we don't give parcels on weekends". With this sort of attitude and service, we're definitely aren't going back nor recommending this place to anyone.

Bangalore Canteen, Baner Road - possibly one of the worst outlets of this brand (though I haven’t tried other outlets, so maybe this is their standard). Service: Hopeless, extremely slow Staff: Arrogant (especially the one who refers to himself as the manager) Hygiene: Very poor (their washroom gives tough competition to PMC washrooms) No wonder you might find worms 🐛 in their food. Advisable to avoid this place.
