Deewan Khana, located on Apte Road in Pune, is renowned for its authentic Maharashtrian cuisine, particularly its non-vegetarian thalis. The Chicken Thali stands out as a highlight, offering a rich and flavorful dining experience. Components of the Chicken Thali: • Chicken Solapuri Rassa: A spicy and aromatic chicken curry that has received high praise from patrons. • Chicken Sukka/Masala: Dry, spiced chicken preparation known for its depth of flavor. • Tambda and Pandhra Rassa: Traditional Maharashtrian broths—red and white gravies—served unlimited, enhancing the overall meal. • Chicken Loncha: A unique chicken pickle that adds a tangy and spicy kick to the thali. • Indrayani Rice or Biryani: Diners can choose between the fragrant local rice variety or a flavorful biryani, both complementing the curries well. • Accompaniments: The thali also includes solkadhi (a refreshing coconut and kokum drink), chapatis or bhakris (traditional flatbreads), and dahi kanda (yogurt with onions). Ambiance and Service: The restaurant boasts a traditional and cozy ambiance, reflecting Maharashtrian culture. The staff is noted for their prompt and courteous service, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Ample parking space is available for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers, adding to the convenience. Pricing: While the Chicken Thali is priced on the higher side, many diners feel that the quality and quantity justify the cost. The Special Chicken Thali, which offers additional items like biryani, is also available for those seeking a more elaborate meal. Overall Impression: Deewan Khana’s Chicken Thali offers a comprehensive and satisfying taste of Maharashtrian cuisine. The variety of dishes, coupled with the authentic flavors and attentive service, make it a must-try for both locals and visitors in Pune.

Deewan khana has their in house pickle of surmai. Which you will not get anywhere. The kind of tangyness the pickle has which was out of imagination. Exiting part is they do make fresh pickle everyday. Loved the food.

Third class experience of the highest order! Professionalism? Never heard of it here. Customers? They don’t need them at all—maybe they’re running a charity for frustration. The ‘menu card’ is just a decorative showpiece—half the items don’t exist. After one full hour of waiting, the only thing served on time was disappointment. And whatever finally came to the table? Third class food quality that even a roadside stall would be ashamed of. Cost cutting seems to be their signature dish. Typical old-school Puneri arrogance still intact—but sorry, that era is over, customers today actually expect respect. If you’re bored of happiness and want a good dose of irritation, then this is the perfect place for you!

Do yourself a favour and do not visit this tasteless restaurant. Had chicken fry thali and masala thali. No words to express the disgusting taste and smell of chicken. The chicken is hard and the masala and curry have same taste like kokam curry salty and sour. Chapati is very thick and chewy. Not one item from entire thali is worth the money paid.

Pathetic taste, tried chicken fry thali here, won’t visit this place ever! Too bad and the curry smelled weird. Honestly, felt like the masala served was from the seafood cuisine. I would not recommend this place instead I would suggest people to try Tiranga hotel at F.C road for authentic non- veg food.
