This has been one of the oldest joint, a joint where my parents went out for dates. The pav bhaji is AMAZING. The thali is served for 240, value for money and quite filling. Other thali options are also great and you will definitely find what you exactly like if you're looking for real-time maharashtrian food. Amazing experience , helpful staff.

This place in Pune gives you authentic Maharashtrian food (pithla and bhakri) . I even like how they serve their curd in earthen pots which makes it more flavourful. If you have some family/friends dying for Maharashtrian food do take them here.

Ahh what a dinner!! Had a gr8 time at all time favorite hotel Girija Talking about the food i had very delicious pithal bhakari and amul paav bhaji followed by mango milkshake Pithal was really mouthwatering as they have given extra tadka top of it like chopped garlic and kashmiri red chilie to give perfect spicey feel. Jawar bhakari comes with 1 big spoon of desi ghee (loni) and 2 types of dry chatanie like garlic and green chili thecha I had paav bhaji at various joints but couldn't find better taste than girija. I can definitely vouch for this place. Milkshake made by readymade pulp and it was also nice Ambience is decent and staff is also fast and supportive. You may find this place crowded during weekends and some holidays. I recommend this place for paav bhaji lovers to visit at least once. Rating would be 4/5

Girija a restaurant in Pune located at Sadashiv Peth,Tilak road serves some of the most authentic Maharashtrian food. Started in 1978 it has been serving it's patrons home food away from home for so long. We tried the pithle(made from Besan) with bhakri. Also tried the Methi pithle with bhakri which again served with thecha which is basically a dry green/red chilly chutney and peanuts chutney. Another dish we called for was the Vangi Bharit which is a brinjal curry which again was a winner. They also serve the regulars like pavbhaji and pulav. For dessert we tried the fruit milkshake and the mango milkshake. I guess the fruit milkshake has no competition at Girija. Definitely a must try.

Best Pavbhaji ever. Tried Girija special cheese Pavbhaji. It was yumm. Lipsmacking. Tasty. Highly recommended for Pavbhaji. Do visit n enjoy awesome food.

This used to be our favorite spot during college time. They have very limited space & tables are pretty congested. Ambience is very basic. However, paav bhaji, masala paav & mango milkshake taste awesome👌 The portion size they serve for pav bhaji is not sufficient for me & I need to order two of them but taste is good They also offer typical maharashtrian food items such as matki ussal, bharla wanga but I haven't tried them yet. Would recommend to try this place at least once for paav bhaji :-)

The timings are really crappy..the food is excellent..their sitafal shake and aaloo vadi is a must try..they say they open up at 7 but they really take the ropes down at 7.30(kind of rude about the timings)..apart from this the food is really good

I might be a myth buster for few and being an old Puneri I was always tempted to go to this iconic place. It just happens that it might had not be the best day for the restaurant chef as I didn’t like the taste at all. We ordered Pav Bhaji and while it looked promising it was sub standard. Masala Pav was just onion fry with bread that too onions weren’t caramelised as I would had expected. After these 2 items, we decided not to experiment anymore. Taste - 1/5 Vibe - 2/5

I ordered matki ussal and bhakri have clearly mentioned about less spicy and less oily but have received so much of oil in the greavy and too spicy i ate one bhakri among two as was hungry and in sometime i puked i wont recommend this place.
