If you’re looking for an authentic taste of Goa, this restaurant is an absolute gem! The food was bursting with flavor — from the perfectly spiced Goan fish curry to the deliciously crispy rawa fried prawns, every dish tasted fresh and true to tradition. The portion sizes were generous, and the presentation was beautiful. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, even suggesting pairings that elevated the meal. A perfect spot for anyone who loves Goan cuisine or wants to experience it for the first time. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back!

Goan canteen is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Goan cuisine. The seafood is incredibly fresh, and dishes like the fish curry and prawns cury are packed with rich, bold flavors. The cozy, relaxed atmosphere makes it the perfect spot to enjoy a taste of Goa right in the city. The friendly staff and excellent service complete the experience. A must-try for Goan food lovers! Ross Ommlete, Prawns fry, and Bebinca with ice cream are the shows topper

We tried Surmai tawa fry, prawns rawa fry and pomfret fry. It was all just amazing ! Chicken cafreal poe is also really tasty. The only authentic place we found for goan cuisine. Must visit. They also serve two delicious desserts- Bebinca with icecream and Serradura which we were shocked to find it available here. At last, their soul kadhi is too perfect and so refreshing. This is our now goto place for seafood.

From classic curries to perfectly cooked seafood, everything tastes fresh and home-style. Simple setting, big on taste. Highly recommended for real Goan vibes on a plate! 🌴🍽️

Goan Canteen delivers a true taste of Goa. The fish is incredibly fresh and full of flavor. The Chicken Cafreal poee is the highlight: juicy, perfectly spiced, and a must-must-must try! For dessert, the Bebinca was spot on – rich and layered, with just the right touch of sweetness. Not too sweet, just perfect.

I am a big fan of the Goan Prawn curry. Its the most perfect Goan curry ever. I would totally recommend this. I have also tried the chicken poee it looks small... but is tasty and heavy for sure. My go to place in Baner.

The chicken cafreal could have been better if 1.vinegar or lemon juice was added to the 3-4 hour long marinade. 2.thw green masala was NOT ground to a fine paste 3. there were onions sauteed in the masala!!! sacrilegious!!! Onions are a no-no in cafreal. 4. the chicken was not tender. Ffor those who don't know cafreal this was nice. For a North Goan Puneri like me, cafreal at Goan Canteen has a very long way to go! Sorry Saurabh!

Rating: ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5) Visited Goan Canteen in Baner with high expectations, but the overall experience was quite average. We tried the Chaunak Fish Thali, Prawns Cafreal with Poee, and Ross Omelette—recommended by the owner. The Chaunak fry was good, but the thali felt overpriced at ₹650, especially with just two prawns in the curry and no chapati or bhakri included. The Prawns Cafreal had flavorful masala, but the prawns were slightly undercooked in comparison with the one served in thali . The Ross Omelette lacked depth and the curry was too thin to enjoy. Service was also disappointing—we had to ask 3–4 times for drinking water, which was finally served after 15 minutes. And similarly even the food took a lot of time to arrive on the table. Hoping the team takes this feedback constructively and works on improving freshness, service, and overall value.
