Great maharashtrian food. Must try if you are a thali person. Maharashtrian dry / curry style vegetables and khichadi are must try.

I got recommended to visit this place for a Maharashtrian Thali experience and it was indeed a great recommendation. Glad that I picked this place for a quick lunch stop before I wound up my short business visit to Pune last week. This place is located diagonally opposite to Ramee Hotel on Apte road. Quick service , great ambience and amazing fresh food. The menu is dynamic and keeps changing on a daily basis which is an added advantage as you get to taste fresh food. Undoubtedly Pune has amazing food options but this one definitely stands out if you are a vegetarian like me who is looking for authentic and wholesome Maharashtrian thali food.

Very ordinary, overrated and crowded - must avoid place in Pune Lots of cons: 1: dirty and unhygienic plates and bowls- looks like something we see in budget marriages 2: typical puneri waiters and staff - strictly no if you don’t like typical outspoken pathetic oversmart puneri people 3: typical puneri kanjoos bhikarda mindset is visible in everything - shallow plates and dishes yet 20 % filled when served …. Mindset of owner towards cost cutting 4: even being a thali , you have to purchase the sweet dishes separately- again visible bhikarda mindset 5: the old man there will not let you speak with your family and relax by constantly speaking nonsense 6: waiters will not serve you even though you need something, you have to explicitly ask for something 7: most irritating , the way they serve is like they are throwing chapati, puri and other items on your plate … what kind of hospitality and serving is it ? 8: lastly, with the bill, they have three sachets of mukhawas for four of us and when my daughter asked one for her, they denied , i mean it’s pathetic. 9: food quality is less than average. This type of hotel should not even exist but the local Punekars will keep coming here and praise about this hotel to non Punekars so that some innocent people like us will visit once.

We have been visiting "Hotel Shreyas" for years. But today's visit was a complete disappointment. The old uncle (manager)was found shouting and talking rudely to the customers about the food they wanted. On seeing leftover food, he insulted us by saying loudly, "potacha andajh nahi ala ka ?" in front of all customers. Seriously? I have never found any restaurant staff passing such comments. We are matured adults to know the importance of food and never ever waste any food - be it at home or in restaurants. Honestly, the servers had served much more than what we had asked for and sweet masale bhat was not edible at all. Why customers should trouble themselves by eating what they cannot and should not eat ? Being Punekar, we could have easily given it back to him at much louder voice and arrogance in front of all the customers that undercooked rice (thanak bhat) and sweet masale bhat is not edible at all. But rather than arguing with rude and arrogant people, the best is to stop visiting the place where the manager and serving staff behave as if that they are giving "khairat" to customers and keeps insulting them. This was our last visit to hotel shreyas. Keep showing arrogance and insulting customers 👍.

Went this legendary outlet after few social media and other suggestions.went around 2:30 still it was crowded. After waiting for 25 minutes got seats. Service was very average for big name .Taste of foods were not great as it shown in some of the reviews. Pooris were too oily and kadak and even chapatis were dry and paper thin and lacked taste . It was probably machine made. Also sweets were not part of thali is bit shocking because any marathi thali is incomplete without sweets. They will give option to choose from sweets but it's charged extra . We choosed modak and for our luck my wife found finger length hair inside modak batter which ruined total experience of eating. To make our day worst the manager was least bothered about it and just said it might have fell while preparing and said we will not bill that modak. No sorry or not even bothered to apologise or offer anything to make us feel better from their end. They are least bothered about customer experience.

I love Marathi cuisine and being Maharashtrian cuisine lover, I feel offended after having Thali here. Who serves Thali without sweet? When items were being served one by one, i was waiting for sweet but I was shocked to hear that we have to order sweet separately and its not includes in Thali. Since when Maharashtrian food become sweet? I couldn’t distinguish between daal and basundi since both of them had same level of sweetness. Sabii was also not up to the mark and taste was below average and food is on costlier side. 400 INR for this thali is not at all worth.
