As I stepped into Hotel Kalinga, I was transported to the vibrant state of Kerala, where the aroma of spices and the warmth of hospitality enveloped me. The Kerala Food Festival, a limited-time offering, was a delicious journey I was eager to embark upon. And, oh, what a delight it was! Ambiance The ambiance was so beautiful, with traditional Kerala decor and soft lighting that set the tone for a memorable dining experience. The staff, dressed in traditional attire, added to the festive atmosphere, making us feel like we were part of a grand celebration. Taste Now, onto the main event – the food Each dish was a masterclass in flavors, textures, and presentation. Here are some of the highlights: • Sadya: A traditional Kerala-style veg thali, Sadya was a revelation. The thali was filled with a variety of dishes, each one more delicious than the last. From the tender vegetables to the flavorful rice, every bite was a delight. • Mysore Bonda: These crispy, golden fried bondas were a highlight. The inside stuffing of mix veggies and beetroot added a delightful twist, making them a must-try. • Chicken Porichathu: The marinated chicken was cooked to perfection, with a local Kerala masala that added a depth of flavor. The oil-fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, a perfect combination. • Chicken Malabar Curry: This flavorful curry was a testament to the chef's skill. The chicken was tender, and the curry had a rich texture that coated the palate. • Kerala Parotta: The soft, layered parotta was a revelation. It was like biting into a cloud, with each layer melting in the mouth. • Dal Pradanam: The famous Kerala dessert was a sweet ending to the meal. The dal was cooked to perfection, with a sweetness that was balanced by a hint of spice. Hotel Kalinga's Kerala Food Festival is a must-visit for anyone who loves the cuisine of Kerala. The attention to detail, the quality of ingredients, and the skill of the local Kerala chefs all come together to create a truly unforgettable dining experience.

Kalinga Restaurant #kalingakeralafoodfestival Kalinga has always been a go-to for seafood enthusiasts in the city, consistently serving the finest catch for years. Today, I'd like to shine a light on their recent "Kerala Food Festival." This festival showcases an array of deliciously authentic Kerala cuisine, encompassing a variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. It's a culinary experience not to be missed. I was pleasantly surprised when I went in expecting a limited sadhya menu, but was overwhelmed by the wide variety of options covering almost everything you could possibly eat in Kerala. We were truly spoiled for choice. 😋 The food was exceptional They Bring all the Chefs to raw materials from Kerala , freshly prepared and delicious. The distinctive Malabari flavors from cooking in coconut oil combined with high-quality ingredients made every dish authentic and delightful. 😍 Additionally, the servers were dressed in traditional Malayali attire. Quite impressive. Some dishes we tried 🍤🍗🍽️ #chickenpepperdry #Prawnstawakeralastyle #malabarparatha #palada #SadhyaMenu Includes 👇 (Banana Chips, Mango Pickle, Mix Veg Pickel, Rassam, Puli Inji, Pachadi, Papadum, Paripu Vada, Maysoor Bhonda, Pazam Pori, Thoran, Mix Veg Sambar, Avial, Kadala Curry, Masala Curry, Kootu Curry, Neyi Choru Red Rice, Iddiappam, Malbar Parotha, Payasam, ( Moru) Abhishek Shetty & Amrita Shetty dedication and commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience truly deserves applause. I savored every moment of it. 🥰 This gastronomic festival runs throughout the month until March 20th.. ❤

*BE AWARE WHEN YOU ORDER DRINKS SPECIFICALLY BEER IN THIS RESTAURANT * EX Today on 17/03/2025 we 2 friend visited Kalinga Reastusrant and Bar , Erandwane, near Persistant lane, it was very very bad experience. We had order beer Tuborg mild and Bacardi rum white , When I tasted beet it was different taste then regular we drink, so I saw bottle label manufacturing date it was produced in October 2024 , means alsmost 5-1/2 months old beer they serve to customer. Then I called waiter why you so old beer then he argue with me that still it is not expired ot has till time to expire. It means they don’t serve latest beer to customer and he was interested to show expiry. It means this restaurant don’t serve latest products beer. I can understand upto 3 months, but more than 5 months in food restaurant is unbelievable. And they don’t bother about your comments , they are more interested to earn profit instead to keep satisfy to their customer. Actually I was visited this restaurant quite often woth family . But today’s experience I will never visit this restaurant, and those who are going to this restaurant and bar BE CAREFUL while ordering their Beer , check latest product date and not expiry date, normally good Bars serve latest produced. Finally I decided I will pay for this beer BUT WILL NOT DRINK and thrown that beer to their near compound in front of them that I will pay for this but will not drink. Anyway, so be careful when you order beer in Kalinga restaurant and bar. After that i had beer in another restaurant nearby and they served and they secure latest beer produced on 5 March 2025 without asking them anything. So please take care when you order bottled beer and check carefully produced date or ask them to serve latest produced beer within a month.

I have visited this restaurant a couple of times before and always enjoyed the food, ambience, and service - they have truly been commendable. However, this visit was disappointing. I found a firefly at the bottom of my mocktail after finishing it, which is deeply concerning from a hygiene perspective. While everything else about the experience was great, I believe it’s high time restaurants start giving hygiene the same priority as food and service quality.
