So, my girlfriend took me to NIPR. Me - forever on a quest to find sasta-sundar bars with cheap beer, free chakna, and music that gets louder and messier as the night goes on. And my God, NIPR delivered. Located in Kothrud, dangerously close to Barometer (our usual adda), this gem had me questioning my life choices. How had we never been here before? But hey, better late than never. The vibe? Killer. Dim lighting, Irani cafe style tables with checkered cloth under glass, and mirrors in the ceiling corners so you can admire yourself mid beer swig. And the music? Don’t even get me started. “Sundara Sundara” and “Mumbhai” is just the warm-up. This place knows what’s up. The playlist is so perfectly ghati that even Salim naai and Suraj truck driver would be proud. Even the menu screams nostalgia. The coasters? They look like those cardboard tickets from a mela’s fortune-telling machine. Ambience = nailed. Even the restrooms have attitude. Now for the free chakna: excellently roasted peanuts and fryums. For a Mumbaikar millennial, that’s basically an emotional reunion. Somewhere, a tear rolled down my cheek. Food-wise, they know their game: peanut chaat, chakli, schezwan chutney, and cheese garlic naan (listed in the chakna section). Cooked to perfection, giving me those Ambience, Lower Parel feels. The kebabs? Charred and overcooked, just the way we secretly like them. Service? Swift, friendly, and non-judgy. As I graduated from KF Premium (because Ultra is for posers) to Old Monk and Coke, I slipped deeper into my happy place, regaling my girlfriend with stories of the good ol’ days back home in Mumbai and the countless nights that ended with a midnight special greasy pav bhaji. With every sip, the nostalgia got louder, and for a brief moment, it felt like I was right back there. Walked out happy, tipsy, and humming “Tan Tana Tan Tan Tan Tara.” Will I be back? Sawaal, bro!

Tonight was a busy night everywhere due to the match yet the service was more than prompt regardless of reading poor service reviews. Food, drinks, ambience, music and humor on the menu card was all great

Visited NIPR Bar in Kothrud recently, and while the ambiance and vibes were top-notch, the table management left a lot to be desired. Despite requesting multiple times to shift to an open area or downstairs, we were stuck in the AC area. What's frustrating is that there were vacant tables (for 6 and 4) throughout our visit, but the staff didn't offer to shift us. It seemed like they were more focused on the booking rather than ensuring customer satisfaction. On the brighter side, the food (Ghee Roast Chicken, Crispy Chicken, Laddhani Paneer Tikka, and Harabara Kebab) had room for improvement, but the overall atmosphere and music were fantastic. With a bit of tweaking in table management and food quality, this place could be a real winner. Will definitely visit again to see if they've made any improvements.

Service is the most important thing in hospitality, the person (arrogant one) at the entry gate gives ridiculously unnecessary attitude ! May be he is just doing his duty but it gives a feel if I am mistakenly walking into the men’s bar or a place of goons !

i don't know what these staff members think of themselves. first of all they don't take bookings at all unless we are physically present. on the call they say we only accept bookings once you are here. once we reach, if there is a rush they incorrectly predict the waiting time like an hour or hour and half, and even after waiting they say they can't predict further as if our precious time is nothing to them, their actions prove it's actually nothing. they can politely say we won't be able to accommodate rather wasting hours of precious time of customers instead of what they are currently doing. after so many years if they can't predict the waiting time, maybe they aren't fit to do the job

⸻ Absolutely the worst restaurant experience ever. They served completely stale food and had extremely rude and arrogant staff. The hygiene, service, and taste were all below basic standards. Not worth your time or money. Definitely not recommended. 👎 The bouncer at the entry behaves with such attitude as if he’s serving free food. Never allocates an outdoor table, no matter how politely you request. Overall, a very disappointing experience
