Well the humble Shawarma has a long story to tell- the Turks, to be more precise the Ottoman period invented the system of 'C,evirme' or turning a stack of vertically piled up meat on a vertical rotisserie- so any meat grilled in this manner came to be known as a Shawurma or Shawarma, the Arabic word for 'turning'. The Lebanese people perfected this style and the same was introduced to the modern world which has probably over a thousand regional adaptations by now depending on palate centric suitability. Ottoman Eats is an outlet of the already successful Ottoman Eats food truck which is based in Wanowrie. This one, newly launched in Viman Nagar, follows the food truck concept with both indoor and alfresco dining facilities, with a balmy ambience and cool art! Their key focus is ostensibly the Shawarma which is nicely done with fries, cheese if you prefer, pickles and greens- archetypally the size of their Shawarmas are also on the plus side. They also dish out Brotas which are eponymous variants of the brown bread and a Pita(Greek word for pocket)- combining 'Bro' and 'ta' of both these- fillings are Shawarma based with mix of touhm sauce, seasonings and cheese stuffed into the pocket. Falafel with hummus is another pick of mine which you probably don't want to miss- crunchy and delish, just dunk it into hummus and you are on a ride! Evoked in me fond memories of my second home, Dubai- where come sunset and every street smelt of simmering Shawarma!

Ottoman Eats needs no introduction, they are one of the best food truck concepts in Pune, serving some amazing quality Shawarmas. I personally know a lot of people who traveled all the way to Wanowrie from far off places for this Shawarma . Which is why I am extremely glad that the new 2nd outlet is opened so close to home. Here are a few options that I tried and enjoyed here : Ottoman Eats Special Fries : Loaded with Chicken, veggies and sauces , it’s a great appetisers . Team these fries up with Lemon Ice tea or a Watermelon Melon Mojito- super refreshing. Puneri Chicken Shawarma : A delight for Punekars , this additional spicy twist to a traditional Shawarma is definitely going to steal your heart. Kebab Platter : serves 3 different types of kebabs. A perfect combo of spicy to savoury. Ottoman Eats Special Chicken Brota : This Brota is a delight. Generous amount of Chicken Filling and scrumptious taste. Bread is soft and makes it extremely easy to eat and definitely fills you up. Baklava: I ended this amazing middle eastern styled meal with a Pistachio Baklava. Crispy and sweet. Place is well lit and looks very pleasing in the evening and chilled out vibes to enjoy with your family and friends. Definitely this place is going to be my pit stop each time I am here and I do have a lot of other options here to try . Visiting again soon.

Ottoman Eats is where I go for Shawarmas, Brotas and French Fries whenever am at Viman Nagar. They have the authentic Chicken Shawarma that has a loaded filling of their delicious in-house marination of chicken with delectable spices, hummus, garlic sauce, veggies and fries. Also, don’t miss out on their Puneri Special Chicken Shawarma. It has the typical Puneri spice which am sure you’ll love. Ottoman’s is also one of the selective places where you ll get Brota that’s laden with chicken. It’s super filling and totally worth it. On the side, try out my go-to Ottoman’s Special Chicken Fries and the Special Chicken Platter. The fries topped with chicken, different sauces and veggies. The platter has assorted chicken kebabs which are cooked perfectly. Pair up your meal with refreshing drinks like Passionfruit Sprinkler, Watermelon Mojito, Lemon Iced Tea and Peach Iced Tea. Last but not the least, don’t forget to order the Pista and Cashew Baklawa. A delicious treat after a wholesome meal. Overall, I love the concept of the food truck with ample of seating and great ambience. Do give this place a try!! 😋💯

Ottoman They are back with an another outlet in Viman Nagar. You will fill up yourself with a great food. It's chicken fillings are superb and perfectly cooked. Brota is Mouth watering tasty! Food dishes- Chicken Shawarma Puneri Special Chicken Shawarma - Red spice in the normal shawarma. Ottoman Eats Special Chicken Brota - One of the best brota! Really special. The bread quality was super fresh and it was soft! Heavy and one complete meal. Ottoman Eats Special Chicken French Fries - Full of different sauces as toppings. Who loves eating strong taste best for them. Ottoman Special Kebab Platter - Four kind of kebabs like saffron, tikka and etc. It was well cooked and a little juicy. Side Drinks- The flavors of drink was strong. My personal favorite was Passionfruit Sparkler. Others: Watermelon Mojito Peach Iced Tea Lemon Iced Tea Dessert- This are small square quick bites. Pista Baklawa Cashew Baklawa

I am a Shawarma lover- brings back memories! Had been to Ottoman eats, which is a truck concept cafe - a go to place for Middle Eastern delights! Their Special Shawarmas are so rich and delightful, would love to go back for more. The falafel was made just right and the pita that was served added to the joy, the dips as in the hummus, the garlic sauce- thumbs up! Ottoman special Brota- first time, liked it though! Mashallah-  Nice place!!!

No doubt I had a scrumptious meal. Ordered the vegetarian falafel plate and enjoyed every bite of the yummy food. Although their vegetarian menu is very limited so they could expand that. Overall great place to eat.👍
