A very clean, decent, well maintained, hygienic, restaurant preparing and serving typical Maharashtrian snacks and meals that won't dent your pocket nor your digestive system. Tucked away in a gully at Karve Nagar (Pune), the restaurant has an impressive variety of Maharashtrian snacks on the card and each item is freshly prepared under the supervision of it's owner, a Maharashtrian lady, so you can rest assured the food is good. Despite its size, the restaurant maintains its dignity and pride with its spotless dining area and kitchen and is a safe haven for everyone- from decent families to students to single individuals looking for a quick homely bite and a glass of tea. Even the serving staff wears clean uniforms with the name and logo printed on them. While every preparation is a MUST try, we ordered- The Masala Ghavan (Dosa prepared from unfermented rice flour batter) - It is prepared and served hot, along with a small katori of green chutney made of coconut and coriander, half a teaspoon of Garlic and Coconut Chutney and a tub of Amul butter. 👌👌👌👌👌 The Thikatmithacha Sanja (Salt and Spicy Upma) - It is served with a sprinkle of coriander and Sev to the accompaniment of a katori of green chutney made of coconut and coriander.👌👌👌👌👌 The evergreen Wada Pav - It was served (a little spicy and warm but nevertheless...) with a fresh pav and a fried green chilly. 👌👌👌 Special Chai & Coffee - (we requested it be served with very little sugar) was well and freshly brewed beverage after that delicious repast at 5 in the evening. Out of curiosity, we ordered a Serradura - a Macau pudding popular in Portugal and Goa, that they sell or serve there. The total bill came to a mere ₹340 but the experience was filling. The staff is polite, soft-spoken and helpful when inquiring about the menu. All in all a decent place to visit for a simple but typically Maharashtrian experience.

So glad to see this outlet in this vicinity. Before lockdown there were many go to options for Maharashtrian snacks in this area but gradually number decreased and quality got affected of the ones existing currently. Thankfully, Shrimanti is the saviour! Huge variety of Maharashtrian snacks. Their misal is worth the try! Tikhat mithacha sanja (upma) is also lip smacking. Sitting is cosy yet comfortable. Best for breakfast or snacking for Maharashtrian food cravings.
