On our way back from Rajaji Tiger Reserve, did a quick search on Google and Zomato for a decent place to eat near the Ganga Barrage, Rishikesh. Loved the ambience of this place, as depicted in the pics. Menu had a mix of everything. Decided to try it out. The eatery is part of a small Yoga Retreat. The ambience is better than what appeared in the pics. Pots with blooming Petunia flowers, aesthetically done, yet minimalistic decor, and lovely outdoor seating area. Since Sun was blazing, we didn't venture outdoors, thought the seating was shaded. Indoor dining space was also open and airy. Those accustomed to ACs may feel the heat at lunch time in the peak summer season. But it was pleasant, otherwise. Coming to the food. We ordered Grilled Sandwich, Aloo Paratha, Paneer Paratha, Masala Dosa, Plain paper Dosa, plain Dahi, Lassi, and Oreo Shake. Best part of the food: everything was made with minimum oil/butter, yet they were delicious. It being a cafe, I didn't expect the Lassi to be so good. But it was. Same goes for the Dosa. Most importantly, this place is extremely pocket friendly. We were six of us and it cost us ₹ 1203 in total. Not so good part: we had to wait for 20 minutes before our first order came. We spent this time strolling around the property and taking a short walk to the sand banks of Ganga Ji. You can see the Barrage from there. Overall, it's a good place for a hungry soul, hidden and far from the melee. Thanks to Zomato and Google for helping me find it.
