Shimoga AKA Shivamogga is located in Malnad region of Karnataka State, connecting some famous tourist destinations of Jog Falls, Mandagadde Bird Sanctuary, Bhadra Wildlife Reserve, etc,, and is nearby to trekking spots of Kodachadri & Yana. Famous RK Narayan Novel Malgudi Days is also set in hinterlands of Shimoga District itself 😊 Since the city falls in the important connecting route of the famed tourist spots mentioned above and this is the last Major Town in the route, one tends to break journey here for a break before heading towards their respective tourist spots! Shimoga gives you a heads up in terms of the Malnad Region culinary delights which take your taste buds on a tasty sojourn 😉 Now coming to the restaurant in question, Nisarga Upahara. It is located on Savalanga Road on way to Shikaripur and it is some what central locale if one can say so. Place is broadly in 3 sections, with Darshini kind of standup spots for people on the go, along with a confectionery unit adjacent to it. Then there is a non AC seating section with hard wooden seating and a AC section with cushioned seating! Place is buzzing and some what kind of under staffed. Service hence is little late. They serve both South and North Indian style cuisines but South Indian is invariably better 😃 Serving Portions are kind of good no doubt. Menu has many items with almost all south indian dishes along with the local favorite - Gadbad Ice-cream! Pricing is on higher side, comparable to almost on par with Mumbai or Delhi restaurant pricing for a tier 2 Town which we found little surprising to be honest! But over all the food is no doubt tasty & they need to fine tune some minor details a little more so they can be up to the mark! Hope they do soon 😲

I orderd north indian meal there was missing veg biriyani ,,, and too low quantity white rice, curry 2 types are same recived, white rice I measured that is correct only 3 spoon only 3 spoon white rice, amount of package 165 is waist, I loss my amount, not worth for 165 meal, this meal was only 100rs worth, pls always check before is correct item in meal packed, bcz of money is ours , kashta pattu sampadane maadirodu,nimmiistakke kalsiddella tinnokkagalla naav kottiro kaas ge mention maadiro items elladunna Kalsi pls, hegu matte contact maadoke aagalla ellaru review haaki bidtare anta heegella maadtira

I ordered two plates rava idli they send one plate rava idli and single normal idli they make fraud in food shame on you hotel staff to make a fraud

Chutney was not given with masala dosa, onion dosa and Vada.. Very bad experience.. Had to make chutney myself at home
