This restaurant is one of Mumbai’s iconic restaurant and consistently featured in India’s top 5 restaurants and even in Asia’s top restaurants. So I had to check them out during my Mumbai visit. Getting a table can be challenge. A very early reservation is necessary. Now coming to the food, we started with hara chana hummus, umbadiyu chaat and ema datshi. Everyone lover the chaat and ema datshi. Hara chana dish was good as well. I loved the presentation and innovation here. Next was main course where we tried pindi chhole kulcha. This dish is totally skippable. We also had daal makhni with sourdough kulcha. This one was average as well. I have tried much better dal makhni at many other places. Finally finished with the coffee rasgulla sundae which is unique to this place and if you are a coffee lover, this is a must try. They are also famous for drinks but I didn’t get chance to try any. The place had lovely old charm vibes and special shoutout to their bathroom playlist

We decided to go there for my husband’s birthday. There were some hits and very few misses. - The Chilled Sea Bass “Sev Puri” was DIVINE 🤌🏼 the texture and balanced flavour was amazing! - Pork Birria Tacos were delicious and my second favourite - We chose military hotel-style chicken pepper roast with Malabar Paratha. The chicken roast had rich flavour with appropriate amount of peppers, not to overwhelming. But, the Malabar Paratha was super disappointing! We even tried Garlic Sourdough Naan but it did not pair well with the roast (quite dry) - My husband absolutely LOVED this one mocktail that had melon flavor (unable to remember the name) Overall a great experience ✨

First visit . Creativity in menu . However most of the vegetarian dishes we ordered has yogurt . Also the presentation is not the best what you get in a fine dine restaurant. Taste is descent with a few dishes good and a few average . Tried their churmur , Pindi chhole , smoked pumpkin launji , plus two dishes and mocktails . Nothing stood out extraordinary

The place was really good. We tried - 1. Smoked Pumpkin Launji - The best tasting 2. Corn locho - pretty good and different. 3. Pindi chole kulcha - very good, spicy and tasty chole 4. Dal makhani - okayish 5. Kofta Salan - nice and different made with eggplant 6. Garlic sourdough naan - basic 7. Multigrain chur chur paratha - very good.

Heard a lot about the place so decided to try it out. We tried three veg dishes and all of them were very average. Not worth the pice at all. We tried drinks as well and they were all very meh. Either the recommendations given to us were very bad or its just good for non-veg. Not all recommended. Only good thing was the ambience and coffee rasgulla sundae.

Good taste and quality. portion size/quantity is too small for the price charged.

We visited The Bombay Canteen after reading numerous positive reviews. While the food and drinks were good. The overall experience was severely impacted by poor hospitality. Mr. Ameya Panchal repeatedly asked us to vacate our table to accommodate other guests. It felt as though we were being rushed to finish our food and drinks within an unreasonably short time, almost like we were expected to dine, pay, and leave within 10 minutes. At around 9:20 PM, we were informed that at 9:45 PM we have to either vacate our table or move to the bar area to continue. FYI, we entered the restaurant only at 8.50 PM only. Frankly, hospitality is a key aspect of any dining experience, and this completely overshadowed the otherwise good food. The experience ended up ruining our Friday evening. Mumbai offers plenty of restaurants that deliver both excellent food and outstanding service. Sadly, this was not one of them. I would not return, nor would I recommend it to others.
