We visited Darikhana expecting a luxury dining experience, but unfortunately it turned out to be a massive disappointment. Service: • From the moment we stepped in, we felt ignored. Several staff members were visibly uninterested in our table, while other guests received attention — giving a clear impression of favouritism. • We asked politely to move indoors (due to the heat) and instead of explaining policy, a staff member rudely told us we “couldn’t go inside”. Unprofessional for a premium venue. • Long wait times for ordering and bill, broken communication and an attitude that bordered on contempt — not what you’d expect for the price. Food Quality: • The food was far below expectations • Limited options and poor execution overall. One customer noted: “Probably the least impressive place in Udaipur. Over-hyped. Tasteless food.” • With high pricing (~₹4,500 for two quoted by some listings) the value proposition fails badly. Ambience vs Reality: • Yes, the setting is beautiful — the island, the lake, the palace facade — but that alone does not excuse the lack of basic hospitality and poor food. • One reviewer summed it up: “Beautiful location … but staff behaviour was impolite, rude and partial. Guests were treated with indifference.”

The only good thing about this place is its view. The service, food & drinks — everything is pathetic!! The staff is so lame.. they don’t have any idea about the menu. The service is super slow.. it took them 45 mins to get 1 soup. The food that arrived after a long wait was tasteless. Overall a very dissapointing experience.

I have been with family to island after seeing the fort . The Resturant view is amazing food is horrible and charged very high not worth at all we order chicken tikka full of Red chilli powder same with mutton and prawns they have no idea how to cook but charge is very high not worth

Darikhana has a beautiful location, the staff’s behavior was impolite, rude, and partial. Guests were treated with indifference, and some received preferential service while others were ignored, leaving a poor impression despite the restaurant’s reputation.

We did not get seated at all. In fact they refused to let us in despite a booking as they demanded a cover charge of 3000 per head. This was not told at the time of booking. The restaurant was empty yet they behaved so badly. Do not recommend this place at all.

Not worth the money they are charging. Food is below average. Spider crawling all over the place. They don’t pack left over food. Poor service. Servers acting as if they own the entire Jahmandir palace. Act too pricey to respond back

the staff is so cheap that even they had 5 rupees change still told me to pay 5 extra. When I gave them my change then he gave me 2 5 rupee coins. Very cheap behaviour for such a royal place.

Probably the least impressive place in Udaipur. Overhyped. Tasteless food. Below average service. Not recommended. Come for the boat ride have a beer and leave.
