The New Jhumar restaurant is right next to one of my favourite places in Udaipur , the vintage car museum and as I wanted some non-vegetarian food we went straight in. The ambience of the place is nice it has a nice family vibe and the staff are very courteous and provided great options while ordering. Also this place customised things as per our requirement which was great. So going straight on to the food, we ordered the sweet corn chicken soup which was great. Nice and full precisely made, later we ordered a Rajasthani thali which was a delight. Had various dishes in their but I loved the bajra roti with ghee. Delicious stuff. We ordered a paneer makhani as well which had good amount of paneer and the gravy was delicious not very oily and as per our requirement not spicey at all. But the show stealer was the Lal maas, that was something I wanted to try here in Rajasthan and I keep dreaming about the dish. The mutton was cooked to perfection with the proper amount of Spiceyness I wanted. The gravy was brilliant and perfectly cooked. I just loved the mutton because I’ve had this perfectly cooked meat after a very long time. We ordered butter kulchas which was buttery as hell but we relished it. To top it all we ordered kulfi which was a regular stick kulfi. So after you’re done with the vintage car museum and are a carnivore like me then this place is a must visit. Happy munching 🍻

This place has a good ambience and very polite staff. Navratna korma was a delight. My personal favorite was pineapple raita. Perfect for beating the heat! Laal mans had a little extra salt in it but mutton was well cooked.

Good food and great people. You can have lunch here after visiting City Palace and Lake Pichola boat ride. Butter chicken, roti, rice and dal were good.
