This is my honest review for the SOUTHAK. If you are craving South Indian food, please don’t try it. The food is Fusion/South India creation, where the presentation is well put together with good service & ambience. We were two people & between us we order 6 items to try, out of that some were simple items like Plain Dosa, Rice with Rasam, Paniyaram, Idli Manchurian, Roasted Garlic Rasam, Podi Ghee Roast. In which, best dishes were the Roasted Garlic Rasam & Rice with Rasam. As rest of the dishes were not even up to the standard of the cuisine. The condiment for the Dosa, like Sambhar & Chutney’s were tasteless. Especially Sambhar, after 1st serving you will not even bother to ask again for 2nd serv due to taste. Podi Ghee Roast, if you like burnt crispy taste, then go for it otherwise don’t have it. (Side note- Server did ask to replace, but we were done with it almost…which was nice of him to ask us to replace it) Idli Manchurian, it looked great & taste was okay, but due to sweetness in the sauces used it wasn’t our favorite dish. Plain Dosa, oily & waste of money, please order something else. Paniyaram, it tasted similar to Maduwada but divided in to 6pc, noting special about it. Overall…..great place to go to sit and have basic food or snacks…. But again if you are craving South Indian food….Please try different place.

Southak brings a new perspective to South Indian Fine Dine. For those who don't know , It happens to be the brain child of The Owners of The Secret Kitchen. As soon as you enter the restaurant you will be happy to see the ambience and the minute details which have been taken care of while creating the vibe in the space. The staff is polite, attentive and they make sure you are comfortable seated. To come to the menu, I felt it to be slightly disappointing since being the type of restuarant that it is, the menu options are limited and would leave you asking for more. They however have the basics right , Dosa, Uttapam, Vada etc are all in place. I happened to have their Platter during lunch hours and also tried their A La Carte during dinner. The Lunch was surely more filling and wholesome. For the dinner i ordered Dosas (Varieties) and idli along with Bissi Belle Bhaat. While nothing was wrong with the Idli and Dosa , The Bissi Bella Bhaat was overly salty thus Killing the taste. Would not recommend it. The kokum sherbat is again a good find and a must try there. To conclude i would say that Southak is a good good place with a lot of potential. They however have to work their way out when it comes to unique taste & better options in menu in order to stay ahead of competition around by established players like 22nd & Miltons SC.

Not a place to have authentic south indian food. Its almost fusion south delicacy. Missed the authentic taste. Also myspre bonda was disaster saying its chef special. It was not cooked properly from inside. The presentation was like a Chinese platter and on top of it, it wasn't actually mysore bonda!

No taste in food, I ordered Mysore dosa and they gave tomato paste in place of Mysore chutney inside dosa. Disappointing taste and food and super over priced. I would prefer CR dosa overt it in a heartbeat

I have been to the other Southak at Chhani and wasn't happy the first time. Then it improved. Hoping that this one would be different, we went here. First thing we were told, the unlimited thali doesn't exist. Upon further questioning, it became clear that due to festivities, unlimited thali was suspended until 20th of Nov. Okay, understandable. Next I wanted the tasty Rasam rice, turned out that I could get only the tomato spiced rasam. I asked for the garlic rasam, and the response was, it doesn't come with the garlic rasam... Thing is , they are two different dishes, served together, so why is substitution an issue? Doesn't even cost any different! The prime issue is that the waiters do not make any efforts towards customer's wishes. There is a rigidity that does not fit with the service industry. We did not ask for something off menu, but for a customisation. Customer service is a very important lesson that the Southak team must learn. Hopefully they will learn on their own, before the market forces them to. Disappointed with the service.

Dahi Vada was third grade. Mysore Masala Dosa was good. Overall not worth the high prices.
